Son of Crawmerax loot?

I've killed the Son of Crawmerax a few times today and he drops ♥♥♥♥ loot in very small quantities. I'm pretty sure it's not because of my level because I have killed the dragons multiple times and gotten MASSIVE lootsplosions with at least one legendary each time. It he just a crappy boss?

Crappy for loot? Sure thing. Crappy to fight? Depends on if you think a Raid Boss who references the original raid boss of the series is crappy or not :P

Dragons Lootsplosion is massive, same for Pyro Pete, The Warrior, and Handsome Sorcerer... but they are the exception, not the rule.

I haven't killed SoC that many times, but it has been more than a few times (at various levels), and I don't think I've ever gotten anything really good from him. But he does generally drop a lot more loot for me than what's in your screenshot. I find a bunch of small loot piles like that scattered around the arena (I'm assuming they come from SoC, and not something else that was killed during the fight).

So, I find a fair amount of loot on the ground, but it's pretty mediocre, and he doesn't seem to have any designated drops, except the DLC heads and/or skins.

Ah. I killed him a bunch more times and it is just all small loot piles. I thought those were from the varkids! XD

It could be. I've never been sure where the piles come from, but they seem like way too much loot to come from regular enemies, so I'm assuming SoC's loot is just spread around. Since I only play solo, and tend to stay near the cave during the fight, I don't see the piles until it's all over.

It's kind of a pain having to go around and check them all, but having everything in one big pile has its problems too (it was kind of a pain trying to check his dad's drops because of that).

He seems to drop fewer stuff than other bosses, yeah.

I don't really like fighting it. Only tried for a couple days because I saw videos where people got lucky and got a Vermivorous next to it, and I wanted that, but it never happened, never got any remarkable loot, and died a bunch of times due to the random badass+ varkid that I left alive in hopes that it would evolve. It's the boss that I dislike the most. I'd say get the skins and move on.

From the few kills I've done, his personal drops aren't much beyond skins. Seems majority of special loot is found from the chests you can access after the kill. Those have more chances of producing legendaries etc.
