If you weren't already aware, what hardware the host machine has and how much effort the host machine has to go through makes a surprising difference in how BL2 plays in co-op.
After doing some more browsing some people have said that they still had the host in online mode with everyone running hamachi in the background and that somehow worked for the lag issues. My understanding of Hamachi is that games will only use that network if set to LAN, and doing online mode would "bypass" hamachi but we'll try that as well.
As a side note, does Borderlands 2 just have bad lag compensation or networking issues? Even other unreal engine games like KF have been non-laggy using direct connections. Puzzling to say the least.
The only problems we had were when the host's machine would become bogged down due to too much going on for their system to keep up at high speed.
Tried adding -5.0.0.0* to steam launch options. Tried adding :5.0.0.0 to .exe's shortcut target line.
*except we used the host's Hamachi IP
Anyone had success with Hamachi recently?
