when I look there, is do not see SaveData folder. Is it possible that I could make a save data folder?
Are you even looked on data of previous post?
Why the necro?
That folder with the long number for a name, that is your Steam ID number, it needs to be that name. If you want another, then another person can log in with their Steam account, you set up family sharing and then there will be two folders with Steam IDs for a name.
In the customization stations, you can set the name for the character, it will display that name in select character, if knowing what character save each person is using, if you are doing that. I name mine for what I use them for, like CO-OP<name of person I CO-OP with using it> etc.
As to read only farming, you set the read only and then when you get what you want you remove the read only so it can save. You can also put stuff in to Claptrap's super secret stash as that is not in your save but in profile.bin and collect a variety of the item before moving on.
It's not CSGO saves, .sav has been associated with CSGO.
That is where you find the game save files. It makes no difference where you installed the game, or where your SteamLibrary is, game saves etc do not live there.
Save0001.sav is your actual save file, Save0001.sav.bak is the earlier version and profile.bin is where you BAR settings, unlocked skins, golden keys and claptrap's stash live.
Each character has their own save file - Save0001, Save0002... SaveFFFF.
OK thank you but I tried to do some read only farming but when i left the game and went back in it had saved what i'd previously done... Not sure if it was a bug or something else but still thanks.
When you say "left the game", do you mean that you exited the game completely, or did you just go to the menu and reload your character? If you just went to the menu, you have to reselect that character (if you just use "Continue", the game loads the character from memory, which includes what you just did with that character).
If you did exit the game completely (or reselect that character), do you have more than one save file? If so, maybe you just changed the wrong save file to read-only.
FWIW, one easy way to make sure that the save file is read-only is to Fast Travel to somewhere else, then exit to the menu, reselect that character and load them (in the same playthrough/mode). If the file is read-only, they will be back where they were before. If not, they will be in the new location.
When you do read-only farming, you (obviously) have to make the save file read-only.
So, hand the mission in and see what is offered.
If you do not want it, accept it and save/quit.
Then Reselect your character, rather than just Continue. *** important ***
You will be back ready to hand the mission in again
Repeat this until you get the desired mission reward, then travel to Sanctuary and put it in Claptrap's stash.
At this point you can continue farming for another mission reward - different elements for Sandhawks etc or you can choose to carry on with the game.
This is when you finally make the save file read/write again, reload the character, retrieve the item(s) from Clappy's stash and carry on with the game.
You have to re-select your character each time because the game keeps a copy of the save in memory and will use that when you press continue. Re-selecting the character forces the game to reload the (read-only) save file.
Make sense?
save0001.sav.bak.I've already done the trick where to turn off and on your bonus stats to force a save, but I cannot find any saves related to Borderlands 2, have I done anything wrong?
