Defend the slab tower
Does anyone else feel like this mission is just designed in a stupid way? Even if you're overleveled by 5 levels you can hardly complete it, I'm overleveled by 3 lvls in TVHM and I can't do it. At the end they just send in 4 badass loaders that either focus you down and kill you or ignore you and you can't kill them because they're too tanky. This is without a single doubt the hardest mission in the game. I feel like this mission should be skipped under all circumstances in every playthrough because it's not worth spending all your money on respawns for.

I don't do Rocko's Modern Strife so I can got to Thousand Cuts to loot and not deal with Slabs, so I don't do that.

i've always found the second wave is the worst, because they spawn behind you and run right for the tower. unless i've had co-op friends waiting right by it, it's almost impossible

This is definitely not a problem, I have enough experience from other games to watch the minimap and when I notice they're spawning behind you I can deal with it. Brick announces it anyways, but it also helps that I'm running at 200% movement speed :D

Leave the gun, drop back to the other side of the bridge and use it as a bottleneck, in Uvhm drop back to the shack with the dunny (outhouse) on the roof to do the same, isn't it the crate you are defending.

When you place the 3 beacons as rallying points the idea is to use them, you don't have to stay on the tower.

Um, I never use the turrret? The turret is useless? I finally did the mission anyways, when my rocket launcher started hitting the badasses. Honest to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god my launcher's bugged out it just doesn't hit them.

Fair enough.

I've always had best luck placing Goliaths in first area so thier helmets can get knocked off and they can go on a rampage making them chase the enemies all the way to the last area. I place the Psychos in the middle area because they have the biggest line of sight so are most likely to leave thier area to help out in the surrounding areas. I then place the marauders in the last section, mainly because they're the least beneficial in the previous two areas. So they're mainly just there as distraction for the baddies while the beserking Goliaths, Psychos and I sweep in for the rescue.

That's exactly what I was doing

The big problem is that there is no significant reward for this mission, the first time I completed it I couldn't even open the loot chest at the end.
Always bear in mind that the rallying points are hints as to where you need to fall back to. i.e. the 2nd wave will spawn right by you and the gun turret, so you need to be back over the bridge nearer the crate you're defending. Spam corrosive grenades and rockets at the tougher bots, and refill at the vending machine. I just spam the corrosive grenades.. creating a dead zone they walk into. Easy :)

I did it already, but my problem with the 4 badasses is that MA FRICKING ROCKET LAUNCHER GLITCHED OUT. It was the most buggy and insane ♥♥♥♥ I've ever seen, my rockets were literally unable to damage them, the projectiles were invisible and the explosions always were behind them. It was literally the reason I couldn't finish the mission because I had to kill the badasses quickly. If my rocket launcher works properly that mission would've been tons easier

Would also be easier if you ignored that mission, when on to TVHM and got to Level 50, then went back to Normal to beat it. The only real reason to beat that mission is the "Beat all missions on the same difficulty" achievement after all.
