I was in the wildlife park and I jumped off a rockface. That got me stuck behind some plants. I had to exit and re-enter the game but it put me right back at the entrence to the location. So I lost an hour's progress and will have to fight my way back in.

Was there anything I could have done to free myself? If there had been mobs around I could have let them kill me (assuming they could get at me behind the plants) but that would have meant waiting around for them to respawn.

Maybe a grenade jump, although whether or not that was even an option might depend on what grenade mod you had equipped when you got stuck. If you're stuck off of the ground, the game may think that you're in mid-jump or whatever, and not let you open the inventory menu, so you can't change grenade mods (or other gear) and are stuck with whatever you have equipped.

Killing yourself would be another option, assuming that you had something equipped that would do it, like a rocket launcher, or you were able to open the inventory menu and equip something that would do the trick.

Anyway, I'm back at the entrance to the park. Guess I'll build up a bit more xp getting back to where I was stuck.

So for all borderland 2 fans who, like me, have put a lot of hours into this game and never got stuck, be ware. There's a little hole some where waiting for you.

Yeah, it can happen. I remember getting stuck once while exploring The Rustyards (Pirate DLC). I'd already killed everything in the area, didn't have anything equipped that could kill me, and couldn't open my inventory. I suppose if there were enemies nearby, but you'd already killed them, you could watch TV or something and wait for them to respawn. :-)

The things that really bother me are the areas where you just get insta-killed if you just go too far in the wrong direction (no "going out of bounds" warning or anything). And then there are the places where you can just fall through the map.

game is full of such glitches, this exact case happenned to me to albeit in different location
but what i find extremely frustrating is my motion is interrupted by small terrain irregularities all the time

im stuck rn behind a barrier with no ammo and im on the last boss which is almost dead. its taken me a solid 45 minutes to get the beast this low

Seven year old thread dude, don't necro stuff like this, post a new thread.

You can try a Grenade jump if you have any left. Unequip your grenade mods, drop the grenade at your feet, and jump just as it goes off.

Otherwise, yeah, you're probably going to have to restart.

If you're having trouble doing damage, then upgrade your weapons.

If you're having trouble staying alive, then when you restart, pay attention when you come down the stairs to the drop off. There's a little alcove right at the bottom of the stairs after you jump down. You can just stand there and take pot shots at the boss when he pops out of the Lava. Or snipe at him if he's down by the control panel. If your weapons are up to date it shouldn't take you more than a few minutes to kill him.
