Vezi statistici:
X-box controler vs keyboard and mouse
What do you guys prefer for a game like this? I've never used a controler for PC gaming but I also play almost exclusively RPG's and strategy games where keyboard and mouse are the only way.

In this game I've struggled a big, especially using "V" for melee playing as the Assassin class. Half the time I also hit "spacebar" and jump while swinging the weapon.

Just curious to see what people think. Also has anyone figured out a better way to map the controls?

keyboard and mouse, just bind the keys in the settings if you don't like the controls, controllers are good mostly for games like the elder scrolls series or the fallout series, it not really good for first person shooters although it is ok for third person shooter BUT it's definetly going to harm you skills.

I would never use a controller for an FPS game, KBM gives much higher accuracy.
As for the melee button you can easily rebind it to whatever key you prefer, shouldn't be much of a problem.
Kbd-M, easier to aim and especially easier when driving a vehicle.
I prefer mouse+keyboard with BL2. Good thing in the game is you can actually use both simultaneously (almost, because you have only two hands I assume), so you can for example move with one, and change weapons with another. If there is sense in that. On screen prompts reflect what was used most recently. But I was comparing them, and I cannot see how people could prefer a gamepad over keyboard.

Said that, the default controls are bad. Some things like reload and melee are best remapped to additional mouse buttons, I found (I melee with middle/wheel button for example). If you have a "gamer" mouse, this is a game where you can use it.
If you use controller, there's an option called "aim assist"

I definitely prefer using the mouse for aiming in FPS, I guess the rest is just a matter of getting used to the controls. Like on an x-box controler my melee problem would be easily solved with the thumbstick click, but I'm a LOT better at aiming with a mouse so I understand whta you guys are saying.

But even with the elder scrolls games or fallout I much prefer keyboard and mouse, especially where I play them all in first person.
Keyboard and mouse is superior everytime. It offers a better experience in any game that you play. It's not fun when you die everytime due to inaccuracy :P
i use mousewheel click for melee makes it easier :D

I use a controller, since it was designed with that in mind, and there are so few different controls that there's no need for extra keys.

As a general rule, if the game was designed with a console/controller in mind, i use the controller, else I'll always go with keyboard and mouse, even if the game offers controller compatibility.

Thanks that's a good idea. Sometimes use that for weapon switch but I can just use the numbers instead.

Maybe I'll respec my guy and try out the melee assasin skill tree, finally ;D

I like to use controller because of my experience with console only games like Timesplitters. I'd say single player and co-op ganes are valid either way, with mouse and keyboard playthoughs making games feel more agressive and controllers making them into a twitchy battle of survival and positioning.

Keyboard & Mouse in a shooter anytime. They also implemented this extremely well, unlike other console ports where the mouse look has some kind of "handbrake" so everything is slow and clunky just like on a gamepad.

Unfortunately you can't really get the best out of the keyboard, as the gameplay is dumbed down to an amount of features that fits on a gamepad. Classic PC games usually have plenty of things like leaning around corners, prone, multiple skills and more than 4 weapon slots on hotkeys to keep more than WSAD + 1234 in use.
Also the inventory is the typical "big scrolling list", there's no character stats screen to understand the interaction of equipped items and skills, though at least there's a paper doll to visualize which items you have equipped. Other RPG- console ports like Skyrim don't even have that.

So yeah there actually are things that justify using a controller as well. Some people can also play extremely skillfull with a gamepad, and i'm not sure what the "aim assist" really does on gamepads. I tested the mouse-assist, and all it does is force you to turn into the wrong direction if you for example strafe and try to switch to another target.
