Need help with Challenge Accepted Achievement

If you look in my screenshots there is an undiscovered badass challenge in the shotgun criteria.. But I can't seem to figure out what it is.. It is either Shotgun Surgeon or Open Wide and then I have to complete Open Wide in order to unlock Shotgun Sniper.. But I don't have any of those two challenges available and before someone tells me, yes I have checked my Watch tab.. Nothing's there.. Anyone willing to offer some help? Can it be that I haven't dueled or traded with someone yet? Because I haven't done that..

I know that and I am sure that I've made 750 close-up kills with my shotgun throughout my gameplay.. What I am saying is that they don't show at all.. No Open Wide.. No Shotgun Surgeon..

That's odd. Open Wide and Shotgun Surgeon should always be visible. The "undiscovered" challenge _should_ be Shotgun Sniper. That's what you get until a challenge is unlocked/discovered (by completing Open Wide, in this case).

Any chance you changed the sort order? I'm not really sure exactly what that does (I've never tried to figure it out), but that's about the only thing I can think of. I'd try changing the sort order, or just go through the entire list line by line, looking for those challenges.

If you still can't find them, you could try having Steam verify the game cache, just in case you've got corrupted game files that are screwing up the challenge list. 1 file seems to usually/always fail, so if that's all you get, the files are probably fine.

Ok so I've been looking around a lil bit.. Can't seem to find those two at all.. Completely missing.. I did verify my game cache but that didn't seem to work..
Shotgun Surgeon: Kill 10 enemies with critical hits using shotguns
and
Open Wide!: Kill 750 enemies from point-blank range with shotguns
Seems to be missing from my game.. I even went as far as resetting my badass challenges making me have to do it all over again.. And I just did the shotgun and launcher part.. Still the same problem.. With the launcher I got the Undiscovered one called Catch-A-Rocket! but the Shotgun still shows only 3 with the 1 undiscovered..

I even did my duel challenge just now.. Even with a Shotgun and that did not fix the problem.. I still have to trade with 1 other person to unlock the level 1 for trading.. But I don't think that it will unlock the undiscovered one.. I think the undiscovered one is either Shotgun Surgeon or Open Wide..

Like I said, the "undiscovered" one _should_ be Shotgun Sniper. That's what it shows for locked/undiscovered challenges (at first those challenges didn't show at all until they were unlocked, but they eventually changed it). Shotgun Surgeon and Open Wide should always be visible.

Which it isn't so I thought it might be undiscovered first like the Shotgun Sniper.. But nevertheless.. I can't find it.. I might have to attempt this achievement on a different character :/

That's a good point. Have you checked the challenge list for another character? If those challenges show for another character, then maybe the first character has been "corrupted" somehow. If they don't show for other characters, that would indicate a problem with the game.

I'm not 100% sure that they are always visible. If I recall correctly, none of those two appeared for me until certain point in game (and certain amount of challenges done) and I got the achievement pretty recently.

EDIT: Since progress for a challenge counts even when it's not unlocked, I suggest running around with shotgun and killing stuff and completing another challenges. You might reach the point where the challenges will become available and thanks to the kills you already made prior to unlocking the challenge you might also instantly complete several ranks of the challenge that was locked.

Thank you very much for your help. I managed to get the achievement on a different character that I had. I still don't really understand why they are not visible. I've finished the game 3 times on one character and got it to Overpower Level 8. I have every single Badass Challenge on Rank 5 (100%). Just not the Shotgun. This will continue to bother me even though I just got the achievement. Thanks once again for your help.

Sorry. I was wrong. I'm so used to seeing those other challenges there, and challenges like Shotgun Sniper show "undiscovered" until they're unlocked, so I really didn't think there were any challenges that just don't show at all. But I just started a new character and those other 2 challenges did not show in the list. You have to complete a certain level of another shotgun challenge before each of those will show up. I don't know the details, but if you keep working on the visible shotgun challenges, the others should show up eventually.

I know that but I have all 3 Shotgun challenges on 100% and it still doesn't show anything.. So I can't unlock them if there is nothing else to do with the Shotgun..

Damn. I assumed that revealing those challenges would be tied to the other shotgun challenges, but maybe not. Maybe they're revealed by completing some other challenges. It's been too long since I played a lower level character. :-) I've tried some Web searching, but didn't find anything specific.
