Lost all of my golden keys and Shift bonuses + savegames...
I'm on a new computer. I was playing on mac, seems like it didn't uploaded my savegames on a cloud... i'm so screwed because it seems like Shift codes, golden keys etc were not linked to my account...

How is it possible ? I thought all of it was uploaded on my account ? At least my bonuses, as the unique armors.... I'm so angry just right now.......

And I can see on my Shift account all the codes I used, and I never used any key so... When I play I only have 2 keys, but I had many more.... What happened ? I don't understand...

Did you switch from Mac to another operating system? If so you will have to copy your saves over manually.

Oh ok... I changed from my iMac to a brand new computer with windows... And my saves were deleted long ago...

So it means I will never get back the content I got with my Shift Codes (armors, skins, golden keys) even I can see them in the list and on my online account ? ... :/

Edit : Thanks for the reply by the way

Gearbox support might be able to help with some of the Shift things.

If you had the Steam cloud enabled for BL2 on the Mac, one option might be to get access to a Mac, login into Steam on the Mac using your regular Steam account, install and start BL2 and let it get your files from the cloud, and then manually copy those files to your Windows PC. I don't know if the files are actually compatible, but if they aren't directly compatible, it might be possible to "convert" them. I don't know.

In contrary of what has been said so far, you don't need to copy any files manually. I frequently switch between Mac OS and Windows, and Steam Cloud does a flawless job at keeping the files up to date on both systems.

If you still have access to your Mac, go to BL2 in your Steam library there, right click > Properties > Updates > make sure the check box on the bottom is checked.

Then, start the game, you should be asked if you wanna upload local files (your precious save files) or download stuff from the Steam Cloud. Choose upload. Start the game, load your chars, save & quit.

Then, start Steam on Windows, and also make sure that Steam Cloud is enabled here, same way as explained before. Then start the game here. Now this time, obviously choose to download the content from the Steam Cloud when you are asked.

This should fix it. But ofc, it only works if you still have access to the Mac and it's files.

Not according to Aspyr, copy paste from them.

PC/Mac/Linux are currently synced to enable co-op multiplayer via Steam.

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/b2mac

Borderlands 2: Profiles and save games are not saved cross-platform in the Steam Cloud.

Profiles and save games are not saved cross-platform in the Steam Cloud.

The same goes for rewards from Shift. They're only given to the system that they're used on, so rewards redeemed on the PC won't appear on the Mac/Linux and vice-versa.

I have tried with Linux, I use the cloud and my saves were NOT there for me and I was too stupid to figure out how to copy them there, and having and AMD GPU it was not a great experience anyway.

OH, and the link for you to see for yourself:

I didn't make that up ;) it works. At least for me.

EDIT: Win8 and Mac OSX Yosemite. Don't know about other setups.

You sure you are not syncing with something like google drive or some cloud thing? I have seen MANY have the same issue of Mac and PC not syncing and even the people who did the Mac and Linux version say it is not cross platform. The files do work on all though.

Thanks a lot. The problem is, that I don't have access anymore to the old mac. And regarding what trukr stated, if I already sync my windows saves on the cloud (automatically), it could have erase what there was before saved... Hum.

But I would give it a try on a friends computer someday. Even if I'm just angry about the codes, as golden keys are rare now... But maybe it's not that bad ? I don't know.

It's just weird because I don't remember why I would have change the sync settings before.

I trust you blinkmoth, but maybe it happens sometime (to loose the save crossplatfrom)

If you can log in on a Mac and get your saves there, copy them to put on your PC, the profile.bin will have your BAR, Head/Skin unlocks and Golden Keys so you would get it all.

Oh thanks a lot ! I hope I'll find it... Or I'll contact Gearbox, even I don't think it will change something if mac/windows codes are separated

the save files are one and the same, I'm 100% positive about that. If you wanna do it manually, the location on Mac is:

user/Library/Application Support/Borderlands 2/Willowgame/Savedata. (this is the folder you wanna copy).

the Library folder is hidden in Mac OS by default, but you can easily access it via Shift+Cmd+G and then "~/Library", go.

not sure about the location in windows without looking it up, but i'm sure google can help you with that.

PC/Mac/Linux use the same shift codes.
ALT4R Sep 11, 2015 @ 5:31pm
Yes but, I can't get back my stuff even they are on my list...

Yes, the do, and that info is in profile.bin. Without that file you loose what you had.
