What is the maximum level of the items?

I am a little confussed here about the level cap of the items.
I am now at UVHM (lv. 57) doing the main quests again, at the same time looking for a few items such as 'unkempt harold' and 'grog nozzle' and so on. Somehow I thought tha maximum level of the item were 62, so I was going to wait unitl I reach lv.62 to get those items so I don't have to get them twice. But I suddenly felt that I might not be true.
What is the maximum level cap of the item in this game?

Overpowered 8 if you have the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade 2
61 if you don't
But once you reach level 72, you can choose to stay there and item's won't be higher than that and even if you choose to go to the OP levels, you can always come back to level 72 (OP 0)

I have GOTY edition so I shoud have the both upgrades.
So 61 is the maximum level of the item until I reach OP stuff?
or the item level goes up accordingly with my level until 72 as well?
What is the best way to farm the item then?
hit lv 61 then farm the itmes? or just do whenever I need as it will be the same as my level anyway.

GOTY edition unfortunately doesn't include the UVHUP 2 so the items will be maximum 61 for you.

On a side note, OP levels start after 72 but to unlock them, you have to complete The Raid on Digistruct peak once you hit 72 to unlock OP 1, then complete it again on OP 1 to unlock OP 2 and so on until OP 8.

I find the OP levels add quite a bit of replay value to a character, if you really enjoy the game, I highly recommend you get it. It's most likely gonna be on special on black friday so keep an eye out for it.

Edit : GOTY edition also don't include the headhunter dlcs, they go for under 1$ on special and they are quite fun.

about your original question(s).

- maximum level as stated by others op8, which means basically level 80.

- if you have low level Grog Nozzles you are doing something wrong. It's a mission weapon and it scales to your level. No, you don't have a legit non-mission Grog.

- as Froot Loops already explained, you need an additional dlc to get beyond level 61, and then you will have to do special mission to get from level 72 to op8. However this is pretty much impossible solo legit without farming for new gear multiple times in between the op levels. So either forget about your plan of a one-time farming, or find some people to help you out if you decide to do it. Usually it's not hard to find helpful people in this game, just start a public game and wait 10 sec.

thanks guys. Now I know how it works exactly. I am playing 3 other mates so we have enough ppl but just wondering if we should buy DLC 2 stuff. Once we reach 61 we will know I guess :)

level 72. Overpowered 8 is not a level,it's additional levels added from a dlc.
