1) Unplug controller
2) Open Borderlands 2 and confirm you can connect to online matchmaking

No idea why this happened. I'm using a Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710, by the way.
The one file that never verifies is a bug that is mentioned somewhere else here. I ran into that one when I corrupted my save file.
Even better, it continued to work after I restarted the game with the controller plugged in, so once you get it unstuck it stays that way
So... only fix seems to restart windows. That worked for her
Yup, after doing that, fixed.
but i had this problem, and i found out that if i switch the game to "fullscreen windowed" instead of "fullscreen" it fixes this for me permanently.
before i switch only either restarting my pc, or not using a controller. helped.
so try changing to fullscreen windowed it may help.
