Solo Tubby farming?

I'm looking for the legendary class mods, but finding it extremely difficult to find Tubbies. Has this changed since the update? I never used the four-player glitch.

Since I play as Maya, my run has always been through Bug Gulch in The Dust, behind Ellie's, which is very quick using the Rough Rider/Breakneck Banshee combo. I used to find Tubbies there every few runs, but now I've gone dozens without seeing a single one, and not even many badasses.

Am I doing something wrong (I'm on OP5 if that matters)? Are there any other more effective ways to farm Tubbies? Or are there easier ways to farm up legendary COMS?

I was just farming an infinity in Three Horns Divide and I saw 3 tubbys spawn near Doc Mercy in about an hour if that helps. But normally in The Dust, you would have the highest chances of finding a tubby. Then again, the chances of them appearing is very low when playing alone.

To use the four player glitch, first you must defeat Hyperius from the mission of the same name from Shade in the Scarlett DLC. After you turned in (of course defeated him), you can go back to the location. But after you enter the arena, you don't need to beat him, just leave afterwards. Boom! Your game is being played as being with 3 other people.

Well, the patch takes effect AFTER you beat the raid boss. So, enter the arena, then back away will retain it

I farm for tubbys in the Dust - Bug Gulch. They will not appear every time, but will turn up every 4 - 5 times. I farm at OP8, so that may help the drop rates, but I have certainly found them on other levels.

As far as the legendary coms go, tubby hunting at level 61+ is the only way you will get Cat, Binder and Nurse mods, as these are tubby only drops. Legendary Siren is a world drop, at pretty much any level.

Tubby appearances are random, and with the recent update they may have changed the rates. Keep at it in Bug Gulch.

Thanks for the reassurance. Tubbies turning up every 4-5 tries was the kind of rate I used to get, so I guess I've just had a really unlucky spell. I'm mostly looking for the Legendary Cat, since I've never managed to get one all game.

I'll report back once I've had another crack at farming.

Well, I got a Tubby on the 8th try, and it dropped a Legendary Cat...alyst. So close, but no cigar.

But if anyone wants an OP4 Legendary Catalyst COM, add me and it's yours.

Anyone know why the tons of Tubby Rakk in the Torgue DLC for that one mission don't drop the usual tubby stuff?

No idea - the ones in the Southern Raceway are always there for some reason, and I have never seen them drop anything either. I have seen the occasional tubby rakk in Eridium Blight as well - nothing dropped from them either. Maybe tubby rakks just don't drop loot for some reason?

I always had the worst luck farming Tubbies in the Dust. I find that the best place is Caustic Caverns. When they morph, the varkids have a chance to morph into Tubbies. You can find a Crystalisk and aggro them onto it. The varkids wont kill the crystals, and the crystals wont kill the varkids. Once you've exhausted the varkids, you can go to the back and farm the Spiderants. Pretty quick imo.

My guess is that it's _because_ they're there for a mission. You'll always (?) find a bunch of them there, until you complete that mission. They would be too easy to farm.
