On a different note, if you plan to start UVHM after that, you might wanna do that as soon as possible without too much farming in between.
Your enemies always scale you your level in UVHM, if you excessively farm for some guns now and get 5 more levels, everything else you have will be underleveled when you start UVHM.
The midgets are not a bad place though to have a few runs to get some random gear to start. Another option would be farming the train chests in the Mercenary Day DLC a couple of times just to get some random good gear. Far better than the loot midgets imo.
I tend to have 3 fav spots.
Short version -
-Sawtooth Cauldron
-Wildlife Preserve
-Thousand Cuts
Long version-
-Sawtooth
I think my best is about 5-6 midgets. After you've wasted the enemies (and hopefully got some midgets) go back up and fast travel back into Eridium Blight, then go back into Sawtooth, wander around and you may be lucky enough to see some, all or none of them spawn again. Enemy free.. untl after a few runs the main enemies will respawn. (Not sure if this fast travel trick works in other areas)
-Wildlife Preserve.
Guaranteed 4 migets every time and a short run. BUT you really need the Creature Slaughter Dome Annex installed so as you can start a mission there come back out (it will fail the slaughter dome) but it will give you a save point near the vending machines making the run much quicker. You also NEED Animal Rights & Doctors Orders missions open. Do not pick up the notes. If you do, ALT-F4 as soon as the audio starts or you risk less midgets spawning.
-Thousand Cuts.
Longer and less guaranteed. Really helps if you leave open the Brick mission Rocko's Modern Strife. No enemies will spawn.
I'm sure there are other places that people favour. GL :o)
Edit: plus what Blinkmoth said.
I've always had a lot of luck in thousand cuts as well. When you accept the quest Rocko's modern strife, it's stops bandits from spawning throught the area, so you can runtrhough the pre-bunker parts of the level with only Special goliath's and loot midgets being able to sapwn. It doesn't force a certain number of loot midgets to spawn like doctor's order but as long as Rocko's mission is active they are the only enemy that can spawn. The chest on top of the bridge by Brick's hideout also is a good place for e-weapons.
the loot midgets adjust to the map level, which is 50 when you have completed the main story in TVHM. And they drop gear up to 2 levels below their own level.
So if you are level 50 and you have finished TVHM, then yes, the loot midgets will drop it at your level. (i think level 48-50 gear, but not 100% sure).
If you have not finished the main story yet, the midget & gear level will be lower, since the map only scales up once you have finished the main story.
In UVHM, the midgets always scale to your level just as all enemies do (the gear being up to two levels below), but they dont really drop legendaries anymore (at least not that often). They mainly drop e-tech relics instead in UVHM.
