Mods to reduce bright flashing?
High folks, I suffer from migraines as I get older, so I was looking for a mod solution to reduce the bright flashes from the following things:

Shock and Aaaaagh
Backdraft
Nova Shields and the Love Thumper
The teleport effect that plays when you fast travel.

I mean, I could wear a sleeping mask, but I think it would interfere with aiming.

Unofficial Community Patch has fixes. I can't tell you whether it can change the teleport thing though, most people don't usually have an issue with that just all the many on-screen effects.

Also Backdraft is a weak skill, you should just never use it in general.

There is a mod that greatly tones down some of the visual effects (not everything but some of the worst offenders).

Mods
First you need to set up BLCMM mods if you haven't already , there is a guide for that https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3149494216 Look in the BLCMM section , take the link to download borderlands community mod manager and either follow the written guide on the github or check the video guide (it might be easier to follow).

Next check out
https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands2/mods/196?tab=description to download the mod.

Alternatively you could get the Unofficial Community Patch which fixes a lot of bugs and includes the "Less dumb visuals" built into it https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands2/mods/50?tab=description

INI tweaks
I would also recommend tweaking your INI to change the post processing from the default to a more subdued effect , it also improves framerate and looks better IMO.

Simple guide and comparison video you can check out https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=291613014

Thank you very much! I have been using PythonSDK with BL2fix for a while now, but since I'm not using UCP, I'll try the BLCMM. It's too bad the original mod designer hasn't released an SDK update

Update: Regrettably the mod alone in BLCMM did nothing. Do I absolutely need to install UCP?
Update #2: Ok, after installing UCP, I was then able to enable Less Dumb Visuals. This was able to remove some of what was bothering me, but I was surprised that there's a big SPARK every second time Shock and Aaaaaaaggghh activates. Weird. No wonder it gave me headaches

Have you tried using glasses to prevent/reduce migraines?

I found this video that may be useful to you:

Maybe using these types of glasses will help you.

there's a really good mod, yes, stop playing if you have troubles of this kind, that sure.

Is it that they are flashes, or that they are bright?

Can you just lower the brightness on your monitor?

Yup, I have an appointment for my eye doctor, and my lenses have a blue light filter. Somedays, I just skip the games.

I would say S+A is quite rough no matter the brightness, especially when stacking Anarchy.
Flame of the Firehawk is probably as bad as it gets.
I think the blue teleport transition grates on me when reloading saves for a farm as it goes from Black Screen / Loading Screen > Bright Blue > Pure White > Location.

You can actually just add the less annoying visuals to your usual python SDK list , it's pretty handy for those old mods that haven't been ported yet , you just need to get a SDK mod for it (don't add the UCP because it has conflicts)

If you use https://bl-sdk.github.io/mods/TextModLoader/ this mod and put the BLCMM mod in the binaries folder like usual then you can just activate the "less annoying visuals" mod right at the start the same way you activate the SDK mods, (you have to do it each time you start the game before loading your character)

Or if you use Exodus SDK https://bl-sdk.github.io/mods/BL2Exodus/ there is a BLCMM mod folder inside the Exodus SDK folder that you unzip into the "mods" folder , it is named z_ModExtension_ you just put the BLCMM mod file into it , you can even put multiple ones in there and they will be automatically combined ,they also start automatically so no need to activate them.

Just don't put the UCP in with any SDK stuff because there are conflicts.

Either way you don't have to give up on your SDK mods , just add less annoying visuals to the SDK set up for the best of both.

TYVM! This was extremely helpful! I like the SDK mod manager, so this is a great solution

I agree, but I wanted to try kill skill stacking.
