Hi!

can I have a chance to drop Pearlescent Weapons without Borderlands 2 GOTY or Season Pass? I have normal BL2 + Tiny Tina DLC

Thanks

You can get Pearls and start UVHM without the UVH pack. Some Pearlescent guns, such as Avenger, Storm, and Butcher, are part of the base game. Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode is also part of the base game, automatically unlocking when you beat TVHM.

tl;dr: YOU NEED NO DLC FOR UVHM OR THE BASE PEARLS.

According to the Wiki, you have to actually have one of the level cap increases to get pearlescent items. Of course the Wiki could be wrong, but I think it's correct in this case. Everyone gets UVHM for free, but I do think the pearls are part of the level cap increases (Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Packs).

We do? I thought the base game just included Normal mode and True Vault Hunter.

As I understand it, everyone gets UVHM. They're just limited to level 50 without the level cap increases. But I can't confirm it myself, since I have the level cap increases.

I thought UVHM was in the level cap increase.

They were released at the same time, but I think they're separate. Someone that doesn't have the level cap increases would have to confirm it.

You can disable the level cap increases through Borderlands 2's properties. Thats what I've done but see no UVHM. I have all the dlc's for it by the way, so unless it's was only out for a limited time, then I'm still confused o.o

Here's an old article from Gearbox from before UVHM was released. UVHM is listed with the free changes.

I don't really know what the Steam option to remove DLC actually does (one of the reasons I don't want to mess with it), but maybe the update that added UVHM and the first level cap increase are connected in such a way that removing the DLC also removes UVHM?

I took a look at the article, and from what I understand, UVHM and the new levels are in the same update and dlc. If it's not that, then the other possibility could be that somewhere in the Borderlands 2 files, the UVHM playthrough is added, it's just accessible in any normal means.
I know that there is another playthrough that is very.....interesting. I have a screenshot of me being able to select it after I was messing around with some files.
