wait a little to say "all is fine". Good luck, you can trust me on this one. See you later to know what else will happen ;-)
So this guy just enters threads, gets corrected, yaps again obvious stuff "problems can reoccur yadayadaya" (a literal tautology) and leaves.
Dude, you are a weird one.
Did you check the guide I linked ? Other than the HD texture pack and physx , gaige can also cause out of memory errors with the skill "Interspersed outburst" and If you are using Nvidia, open the Nvidia control panel, go to borderlands 2 settings and disable Threaded Optimization and change Virtual reality Pre-rendered frames to use 3D application option.
If neither of those options work there are some INI tweaks you could try https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3127434981 but I would only suggest those if you have a low end pc or laptop , otherwise you should not be getting out of memory errors.
It's pretty commonly caused by those 4 things so maybe you missed something , physx to low should be an easy one to double check , but maybe you missed the HD texture pack , check thru your DLC's thoroughly.
so, no one is talking to u, why are you here to spam on something? For your personal info, it's not Tautology, i guess you should return to school a little bit, maybe 20/25 years ;-) And i think OP will tell us, a little bit latter, how it goes on this game, i think he is an adult.
and you know why, here, everyone just say nothing but only you, because they know that i'm right, the game will definitely crash at a moment or another, with or without all your explanations (a little boring for a reading, sorry, wikipedia and me...) and it can happen but it's mostly at the same place, hammerlock DLC and some places in this DLC, Flight for Santuary also, on some places too, i had crashs so many times on this places, exact same places, that i think your advices and everythings else will not help a lot, and that true. You can tweak the game again and again and at the end, you WILL CRASH. That all and it's not because the OP said he don't have crash anymore that is the solution. If this is the solution, why so many people have this problems 12 years after, why, can you explain with a long long boring wall of reading? No, you can't...
And more, i will make you a special gift : https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197994782258/screenshot/2417956824771543545/
I think that you're talking a lot but you've played this game 20hours? I'm right, yes...The more people are talking, the less they play.
for me it fixed the CTD, since i have it installed i did not get any out of memory crashes. it could be just coincidence, or it really did fix it for me.
Althought the OPs game is fixed for now, it could also be. I dont know.
But in that case, it is just the cherry on top of the cake to disable PhysX (aka put it low, which is effectively off) and uninstalling the UHD, and if that doesnt work, start with workarounds (like DXVK and some mods, and more). BD2 had a poor implementation of PhysX, although TPS did it abetter job with it (but still not enough). If someone is (I dont know why) a fan of PhysX still, one of the better adaptation of this feature is found on some of the older Batman Arkham titles.
Anyways, back to the subject: The many stutters, the crashes and general instability is more than enough reason to turn it to low since all you be really missing is green stuff comming out of the bathrooms and some explosions goo & slag pools. So yeah, not worth it overall.
What you say its true, BD2 uses UE3: this also means a limitation on the VRAM usage to 2-3gb on BD2 (cant remember properly), which can cause crashes when using UHD pack in some areas. This is the reason most of the players here were telling OP to uncheck it (which makes sense), since BD2 has a memory leak (but not as bad as in BD1 remaster or some segments of BD3 that cause that)
If someone is worried about general performance despite having good PCs, turning view distance to medium could also help, since is the most tax demanding (both CPU & GPU) impactful setting in the game (behind our lovely PhysX, of course)
Also good to know but semi-unrelated; some people deleted the ini file inside "willowgame" and then on the new file changed an specific config line; turning 'bAllowLightShafts=True' into 'bAllowLightShafts=False' solving some crashes on areas like Opportunity and Washburne Refinery (and some other areas on the Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty DLCs), thus solving the issue.
intel 13th gen, high end K model
out of video memory error with unreal engine
he should look up for bios update or microcode from intel
adjust power levels and whatnot
also pray that is not the cpu because when it starts to degrade it never stops until total failure
diagnose it and see if your cpu needs RMA
Thanks for the info Vagrant, I didn't even know that was a thing. I got the diagnostic tool from Intel that checks for degradation and it was a nervous two minutes while it tested everything. I don't know what it all means but it said I passed with everything in the green.
