cant get goty edition in ukraine

my friend is in ukraine and cant buy game of the year edition does anyone know any work arounds to get that edition?
he can get the base game or the handsome collection but goty is just not in that region

Well, the Handsome Collection is a better choice. It contains all of the content that the GOTY version does, as well as a fair amount of additional content. Granted, it'll likely be a bit more expensive, but ... if your friend is buying a Steam version, then the bundle should be discounted based on any content he already owns.

Beyond that, the best choice is probably some kind of VPN on his part.

handsome pack isnt what it used to be buying goty would be alot cheaper
goty around 8$ and handsome around 17
wouldnt make sense to buy it when we only want to play the second game

The contents of the Handsome Collection haven't changed.

It contains everything that the GOTY version includes, as well as some additional content. (The Handsome Collection has all 5 of the Headhunter packs, the GOTY version does not).

The only BL2 content that is NOT included in the Handsome collection is the Commander Lilith (and the fight for Sanctuary) DLC.

In addition to the BL2 content, the Handsome Collection also contains 100% of the BL:TPS content, an entire second game, which, frankly is extremely under-rated. It doesn't have as much over all content as BL2, but what content it does have is fantastic (in my opinion of course).


Yes, the Handsome Collection WILL be more expensive. But to that I'll say that this particular sale isn't all that generous. It usually goes on sale for about $15 USD. So even if you don't want to get it this time, I'd suggest sticking it on your wishlist, because it will go on sale again, and it'll probably be cheaper next time.

i bought handsome collection for like less than 2$ and now its 17 so yeah were not gonna pay 17$ for a game that we'll barely touch for 10 hours

i hate to break it to you but its actually $15 with tax. idk where you got $17 from(i guess you just guesstimated the price after tax when you didnt really see the price set to $13.80 which after taxes comes to like $14.90 but it is what it is) i will not say its cheap but at the same time how much do you really want to play the game with that friend? like if you wont play more than a single playthrough then yea dont even bother paying for any dlc and just go with the $9 base game(after taxes) you sure as hell wont get much enjoyment from the base game since you didnt pay for the literal fun dlc but you also dont want to give money for the dlc that is the best even from someone who preordered BL3 6 months before it came out only to find that your $100 preorder didnt include season pass 2 which was included in a $100 bundle a half year later(after game came out not when it came out) to each their own.

TL:DR if you dont plan to play more than a single playthrough dont bother with goty/handsome and dont complain about it either. to each their own. if you want fun pay the $15 for handsome collection its at a whopping 94% off til july 25th. you wont find it cheaper.

Your friend (as far as I can determine) owns none of it, so he's not going to get the discount you did.

Base price on Steam is currently $13.80 USD (that's a historic low I believe). That includes tons of content and (in my opinion) offers literally thousands of hours of entertainment. If you just want to play the base game in Normal mode once, well ... you do you I guess.

nope didnt have any of the games. look at steamdb price charts from 2020. i got it back then before regional pricing lost its meaning in steam
to see the price in that time you should try lira or ars. those regions are eliminated so the chart doesnt update anymore and you can see the prices from 2020
