Master Gee Gate Glitch Patched?

Whenever I try to crush him with the gate he quickly dashes away right before it closes. Is this patched or am i just doing something wrong?

Doing something wrong. He can be easily crushed if you do it right.
Get him as close to the gate as possible,
go into the arena,
melee him to start the fight,
throw a final 'nade outside the arena, to make him stay there while the gate closes,
and if it was all done right, Squish.

push him in a corner and stand right in FRONT so he gets stuck till the door closes. you have to physically block his path.
