Enemies level are too low..
Hi, is there any way to increase the level of your enemies in the game? I just finished the main story and 'Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep.' The levels were fair and the game was interesting until I started the new DLC, 'Captain Scarlet,' one of the first DLCs in the game. I finished all side missions and I'm now level 40, but enemies are level 30, some are 32 and are easily killable... And it's really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring. Is there any way to match enemy levels to your level or am I stuck with low-level enemies? I searched online for some information and found out something that I don't understand at all... People were talking about a new game mode where you have to start the game from the beginning, but I don't want to do that... I want to continue... Any help? If it's not possible, I would probably stop playing this game as it's not interesting to one-shot enemies...

That is basically the worst thing about BL2, you over level WAY too easily, and the DLC levels are just completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to say the least.

Your best bet is to either do them in TVHM, UVHM or get a mod that removes level scaling entirely.

No, you would have to got to TVHM.

You keep everything on your character - level, skills, items etc.
The thing that resets is the story progression. Aka you start fresh at claptrap but everything is tougher and higher level, and that goes for the DLCs too.

The game has way too much content for a single playthrough so normally it is recommended to do just the main-story and a few side-missions as necessary for the first playthrough, 1-2 story-DLCs (like TinyTina) for the second, and then everything you like on the third.

So, about True Vault Hunter Mode (TVHM), how do I play in that mode? Do I have to start a new game and lose all my progress to play from the beginning? Or can I just continue with my character and story?

The enemies are too low because you're in the wrong mode. Once you hit level 30, you should move on to TVHM as quickly as possible. (Which you can do on the character selection screen).

There is TOO MUCH content to do it all in Normal mode, and TOO MUCH content to do it all in TVHM. There is however, plenty of time to do all of it in UVHM.

The gear cap for TVHM is level 50. UVHM starts at level 50, but scales with your level, meaning it is possible to start UVHM with level 50 gear and be facing (say, for example) level 57 enemies. I assure you, it's quite the unpleasant experience.

Move on to TVHM (yes, it's a New Game Plus mode, so you start the main story all over again) but everything is higher level, and you get higher level rewards.

In your case, you should avoid anything except for the main story missions, try to finish the main story as close to level 50 as possible.

If you do end up over level 50, then use some golden keys at the chest in Sanctuary right before you transition to UVHM, so as to have some on-level gear.

"Yes"

Yes, you get to keep your existing character and gear.
Yes, you do have to start the story from the beginning (at the Windsheer Wastes, talking to Claptrap).

Switching modes is done on the Character Selection screen, I'm not entirely sure how it works with only one character. But if you have more than one character switching back and forth between them will allow you to choose any unlocked mode (for that specific character).

So, just to clarify, when I start True Vault Hunter Mode (TVHM), the enemies only scale up to level 50, right? If I want enemies to match my level beyond 50, I have to start a new game mode with Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode?

Why did they have to make this so confusing? Couldn't they just add more levels smoothly without any hassle? I don't think it would've been that hard. I bet nobody wants to play with easy enemies anyways...

Yeah, fantastic. Started the TVHM mode and lost all my progress from the previous DLC. I'm only frustrated because I lost the Eridium farm missions and Princess Butt Stallion's loot.

The original base game goes from level 1 to 30, but all the enemies and missions (aside from a couple of areas like lynchwood) the idea being that if you follow the story, you *should* match the area you are in. If you want it tougher, you can speedrun, if you want it easier you can do sidequests.

then they added four DLCs, and four mini DLCs and then a final fifth DLC. Now on the one hand the Tina DLC goes to 35 and the final Lilith DLC goes to 38 but, do you know what level you can reach if you do *every* mission, and *every* sidequest and *every* DLC mission?

47

so, yeah, the balance is not very good on the first playthrough.

it *can* be *slightly* better on the 2nd playthrough. This has a cap of level 50, and once you reach that, you get virtually no more experience (it's to make you go to the 3rd playthrough) also once you complete the main storyline, every unstarted side mission jumps to level 50... I think.... maybe I imagined that

anyway, the point is that the first playthrough is just practice and getting to know the game and if you have the lilith DLC can be skipped (almost) entirely. the 2nd playthrough is pretty pointless and just to get to level 50 and the game really begins on 3rd playthrough

You are going to be over leveled when you get to UVHM.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider starting a second playthrough without finishing the DLCs first. The game offers so much content that fully exploring it takes over 100 hours. Adding two more modes that delete your progress seems like a joke to me. While the game itself, the story, and the gameplay are fantastic, the idea of repeating everything again after just completing the main game and one DLC feels monotonous.
I'm feeling sorry because I already finished the Tiny Tina's DLC. If I had known about this, I would have saved it for when I reached the third game mode after level 50. I'll miss out on the Butt Stallion's loot and the repeatable Eridium farm missions. While I could go back to Normal mode, the weapons are locked at level 35 only. I'm struggling to see the bigger picture here. Did I overlook something, or does this just seem really stupid to me? Yeah, I understand that some people enjoy replaying games multiple times, but for me, once I finish a game, I prefer to leave it at that. This isn't ideal for someone like me.

No.
You have NOT lost the progress but rather the progress is tied to each difficulty.
as i already said when going to tvhm ALL story-progress starts from scratch - nothing is unlocked. At any time you can just choose to play a Normal vault hunter mode again and all your story-progress will be exactly like it was, and enemies will still be limited to 30 (35 for some dlcs).

And why they did it like that?
Well the game does have a decent amount of content. And either you do it something like this, or you make the game incredibly grindy, or you will have to do a ton of work to get any semblance of balance (and likely still fail at that).

No, you didn't, the mission is still there, in Normal mode.

You haven't unlocked and/or reached it in TVHM.

Quest progress is tracked individually in each mode.

Yes, that's what I meant... Thanks for your help very kind from all of you!
