"It's Like That One in the Video" Achievement problems

I'm doing Tiny Tina's Assult on Dragon Keep with my level 66 Gunzerker and when I get to the part where i can kill that Darkness for the achievement, I don't get the achievement. I throw my Magic Missiles x4 at the Darkness, and I don't earn the achievement. Any ideas why?

i think you will only get the achiev when you kill the darkness without the magic missilies

the magic missile grenade is used to open the door.. try shooting the darkness with a gun

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure using MM is right. All I can suggest is trying it again, and giving it some time (sometimes completed achievements take a while to show up). You could also try shooting the door with something else, as the others suggested. No harm in trying.

Depsite the reference, simply using Magic Missile isn't the key here. IIRC, when I got the achievement, I... did one of two things, but I can't remember which worked.

Simply Killed It. Drain the Health to 0.

Killed It With Magic Missile. Drain the health very low with stuff like a Melee or a weapon you know can't instantly kill it, then deal a death blow with Magic Missile.

Both are easy enough to test.

Using the Magic Missiles opens the door, leading to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ chest.
Killing the Darkness with anything unlocks the achievement.

I killed the darkness with, SMG, Rocket Launcher, Melee Attacks, Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Pistols...every sort of weapon. Every sort of elemental damage and with explosions. But I don't get the achievement. I can open the door if I kill the darkness with a magic missile, but no achievement. Does anybody know how to solve this? Any special weapon needed? Or is there a min./max, player level requiered? The first time I killed the darknes, I have been around lvl 30. The last time I was level 54.

Coming at you from 2018 on the newest updated version. You have to kill the darkness with a weapon. I believe the problem is hitting it with magic missile, doesn't actually kill it and just makes it disappear so it's not registered as a kill. I went back and killed it with a normal pistol and I got the achievement.
