The only reason you're getting a LEvel 7 Infinity is because you're killing a Level 7 enemy. Kill a Level 50 enemy for Level 50 gear.
Then you must be playing in Normal Mode. The level for anything dropped by an enemy is going to be based on the enemy level. In Normal Mode, Mercy is going to be around level 10, and that doesn't ever change. So, any Infinity he drops is going to be level 10 or lower (usually lower).
You can try him in TVHM. If you haven't completed the main story in TVHM, then Mercy will still be level 30-something, and any Infinity he drops will be around that level. If you've completed the main story, then he'll be level 52 (I guess), and he can drop one that's up to level 50. And in UVHM, Mercy (like everything else) will scale to your character level, and anything he drops will be around that level.
You're not level 50 - you haven't even reached level 25 yet. There's an achIevement when you reach level 25, and you don't have it.
people hit youtube, see everyone talk about the infinity because its the biggest gimmick in the game and for some reason a handful of people actually think its good, and then once they get to UVHM come here to post about how hard the game is. it's not hard, those people are just doing it wrong
save us all the time, the finger cramps, and the locked threads and actually play through the game
That reason would be that those people solo raid bosses at high levels. I've soloed Dex, Verm, Hyperius, and Terra at OP8 using Infinities dozens upon dozens of times, more than a hundred in the case of Terra. I used Infinities soloing Digistruct Peak for most non-boss enemies, switiching when appropriate.
The Inifinity is very useful depending on the character, build, level, playstyle, and situation, like most other equipment in the game. My Axton build can't use a Rough Rider, but I have a friend who has a Zero build that loves it. I also had no use for Torgue before OP5, never used them, then I suddenly fell in love with hidden nade buffs. At some levels, some aspect may work well for specific characters and builds - RoF is more important to me than card damage with my Digistruct Axton build, shield recharge delay is more important than size, etc. At some levels, and in some situations, one aspect of equipment will be advantageous to that player's character, build, and playstyle, while being useless at other levels or situations.
You're not going to get an Infinity from them in Normal mode - the high legendary drop rate from midgets is in UVHM, which is why they're called Legendary Loot Midgets in UVHM. Teek is right - you need to stop watching BL2 videos and just play the game first.
That has nothing to do with your Steam Achievements.
Maya with Restoration who is in FFYL, she can use an Infinity to keep shooting someone reviving her, so that they don't get downed as well. Probly the only case where other guns being superior for the job is uncertain.
Zero with One Shot One Kill, every shot will be a fully loaded shot, getting the damage boost. Infinity is so weak though, so a proper gun, like a generic SMG, could probly consistently out damage it without OSOK.
IMO, it is best left as a gun lowbies randomly get that helps give them a bit of a boost, and then ends up being underwelming for everyone else.
I have a bunch of OP8 Infinities from all the Doc Mercy's on the Peak. A vanilla Infinity - Rapid - has a card damge of 334K - OP8 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, non-elemental, have a card damage of around 228K. Infinity RoF is 8, that's the Vanilla, not a Vengeful, which is 10.4 - the ♥♥♥♥♥ is 8.7. The ♥♥♥♥♥ isn't a generic SMG. Pairing weapons with a Bee is about RoF, so the card damge doesn't matter so much - but if that's going to be an issue, then you should know that an OP8 Infinity has about 50% more card damage than a ♥♥♥♥♥, not counting it's crit bonus.
By lowby, you mean a player who judges weapons by card damage and shields by capacity, right?
You're still trying to lie your way out of the other lie? I can look at the dates of your achievements and see your play history. You gave the game a try back in early February for a couple days, reaching level 10, moved on, then came back for a day on June 25, and finally started playing again 4 days ago. As per your screenshots, you were level 17 on july 17, and have not yet reached level 25. You've played a total of 75 hours, 46 of those in the last 4 or 5 days.
Don't come on here and complain that you got a level 7 drop at level 50 - it didn't happen - you're not level 50 and haven't even reached level 25 yet.
