There is also a bifrost DLL in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32
I turn my network mode to offline as soon as I get to the main menu because otherwise the game has stutter and can kick you out of the game randomly.
I wonder if this Bifrost sh!t is what causes the stutter ? (seems like it , it's related to epic game store crossplay SHIFT crap)
I never play online but I see 60 or so cache files from back in 2020 all on the same day when the update came out, after that only 1 or 2 files since 2020 have been made , perhaps because I don't play online , don't use shift , disable network mode and all that.
If you are only playing solo try turning your network mode to offline (Borderlands 2 main menu , network options) and see if the crashes stop and data usage goes down.
Seems it has something to do with the new sh!tty epic game store crossplay.
It doesn't seem to be a virus or related to the virus named bifrost , bifrost was a magical bridge in Norse mythology that linked the realm of the gods to earth.
So it's probably just a case of both groups using the name because it has the meaning of being a "connection" the virus bifrost is a backdoor , meanwhile the bifrost bl2 uses is a LAN connection.
Of course if you think you have a virus you shouldn't ignore that , but if you delete it and borderlands stops working , well it's probably just a sh!tty matchmaking program with the same name as a virus from the 2000s
It's weird to think that gearbox would use a virus backdoor to connect users rather than it being a simple LAN connection but some people are looking for conspiracies everywhere I guess.
