Good strategy for fighting Bloodwing?
Okay, I'll be the first to admit it, I royally suck at this game. It's fun, but I suck.

I got as far as Bloodwing in singleplayer, and am stuck like a stick in the mud. I maybe last three minutes, but once Bloodwing divebombs, I'm one-shot. Down immediately. And the problem is that Bloodwing will use this attack 7 times out of 10. Even if I sit above the boss battle arena where the checkpoint is, she still one-shots me when she divebombs.

So my nooby question is, how the flying ♥♥♥♥ do I defeat that bastard?

Honestly, if you can't beat a boss, try doing coop. (Example: for whatever reason, W4R-D3N beat the hell out of me in singleplayer no matter what I did, including corrosive rocket launcher straight to the eye as well as corrosive AOE grenades all over the place - it took almost zero damage from anything I was doing. I went into coop and we managed to beat it.)

If you're the completionist type and/or you like to explore the game, do all the sidequests in singleplayer (which is usually what I do unless a few friends are on, then we all do them together), then go coop for whatever story mission you're on. That way you don't feel like you're missing the sidequests and you can proceed with the story.

Sometimes you gotta work together is all.

I appreciate your help, I really do, but Co-Op isn't my thing due to only getting internet occasionally on weekends at the library or at my school, because my home internet is absolutely horrible (10 gigs of data per month).

I finished storline twice solo using Maya ... so anything is possible . I had a hard time with some boss fights . Keep in mind that if you are lower lvl than the boss is it will not matter what weapon you have , its damage is reduced signifigantly . Almost every boss in the story has a cheese spot you can kill with minimal attacks from it succeeding . First playthrough I killed Warrior outright , TVHM Warrior was 4 levels higher than I was , so he got cheesed bad . Level up once or twice, upgrade gear and give Bloodwing another shot .

Thanks for the response. BW has about 2-3 levels on me. I'll take your suggestions and do some sidequests to level up before going back to Bloodwing.

Are you using up to date weapons and shield? When I first started I grossly underestimated how significant an impact having gear a few levels below you can make on your effectiveness vs enemies at level parity.

Not sure how to tell if something is "up to date" but I'm using my best gear, most of it coming from golden keys.
Virgil Feb 17, 2016 @ 2:34pm
Up to date meaning at your level or at most a level or two below you. This doesn't matter quite as much on Normal mode, but can still make a drastic impact. Still, if you're using gear from golden chests it's probably not gear keeping you down.

My strategy has always been to burst down Bloodwing as quickly as possible (I'm usually around lvl26-27 by the time I fight her, as I usually do a good chunk of Scarlett DLC at lvl16 and Torgue DLC at lvl20 for some decent surges in experience) while keeping a few of her adds alive in case I need to Second Wind. I haven't ever really been able to dodge her divebomb unless I have a speed buff (certain class skills), assassin's stealth, etc. so I focus the hell out of her rather than try a marathon fight. If the fight's lasting much longer than 2-3 minutes, you may not be putting out enough damage.

What Spider mentioned about gaining a little more experience is probably your best bet. If you intend to move into UVHM eventually you don't want to overlevel too much, but just enough to give you an edge. Good luck; please excuse me for a second while I regret the hell out of my decision to microwave a DiGiorno pizza instead of putting it in the oven like a sane person.

Microwaves are not a pizza heating appliance !! Just the thought of that is kinda gross and you have my sympathies .

Damn. I'm honestly not used to limited internet :P we had it when I was a kid, but I wasn't allowed on the internet until I was 11 or 12 (with heavy, heavy parental monitoring and controls, understandably) so I didn't know the difference.

Well, everyone else here is giving good advice. Try doing sidequests - I was too cheap to spring the extra $3.50 for the GOTY edition during the lunar new year sale, and I deeply regret that, but even with just the base game doing most or all sidequests and exploring will get you levels and gear in no time. They really do make a difference.

As for gear, even a few levels will make a difference. A while ago I was using golden key gear from level 18 and wondering why it wasn't performing effectively until I realised I was level 24, whereupon I began to wonder how I'd leveled up six times without noticing. I re-geared and suddenly I was doing well again.

(You might be interested in transfusion grenades. I had a homing slag MIRV one at a lower level; I would just toss down my turret, throw a grenade, and the grenade would heal me; as an added bonus, anything that the grenade didn't obliterate would get killed by the turret. Also look into booster shields; they may say that they only have a 10% chance of dropping a booster but that's every time you take damage, and they actually drop fairly frequently if you take a lot of small hits. Pick up the booster and suddenly ~25% of your shield is back. Can save your life.)

This fight is a real pain in the ass the first time you play the game, but you can still block almost all his attacks by crouching behind those boxes in the middle of the arena.
Maqua Feb 17, 2016 @ 3:38pm
I recommend, though, to gain more levels before killing him.
Rapture Feb 17, 2016 @ 4:42pm
I usually finish off all the sidequests before I go to the main story, so try that it'll level you up.

Try getting the Hail by completing the Bandit Circle of Slaughter which can be found in Fink's Slaughterhouse located in The Fridge.

Which character are you playing as by the way? Perhaps other players can help you better with skill builds, preferred weapons, and so on, esp. since you are very limited to online co-op.

You should attempt to get a vladof sniper, and run around ALOT, in my first playthrough it took me 2 hours to beat bloodwing, so your not alone
