Anyone feel bad for Handsome Jack?
Just completed the main story last night and honestly I kind of feel bad for the guy. Don't get me wrong, Jack is an insane psychopath who deserved to die. Abused as a child, his wife accidentally killed by his daughter (from what he says anyways) and to top it all off watches helplessly as his daughter is killed.

me too, but i enjoyed killing him
that mix beetween fun and sadness tho
after reading on Borderlands Wikia about how he was abused as a child by his grandmother, I did feel maybe a little sympathetic towards him (despite him wanting to wipe out the people of Pandora, with alot of them being innocent men, women and children)

I agree, it's harder to outright hate the villain in BL2, when he's swearing revenge for killing his only child. But even that sympathy for Jack adds a layer of complexity to the player experience.
The writers did an astounding job at getting the player emotionally involved. This is something that studios are doing less of these days and is a key part of a great game.

I have always suspected that HE killed her because she would not allow him to do what he did to Angel.

Feel bad for him, no not really. Many people grew up in awful conditions and were treated badly yet are still not like that. He is an awesome antagonist though.

Poor man, all that trouble and all he gets is hate and people trying to kill him, even though he tries to make Pandora safe and everything.

Totally just kidding, screw that guy.

Of course I do. He was a good guy in Pre sequel. In my eyes, Lilith and Roland are the bad guys of the series because they are the one that made Jack into what he is in Borderlands 2.
Jack's plan was actually to rid of the bandits and restore peace. After what happened in pre sequel, he kind of just wanted revenge for destroying what he loved.

What Roland and Lillith did surely affected Jack's future "kill everyone" attitude, but he had, long before that, enslaved his daughter and used her to further his own goals and manipulate the vaulthunters in bl1. At least that's how i understood it.

Oh really, what about the airlock? He was a bad person with a hero complex, the big mistake was over planing and too much drama, thus failing to kill him.

He sure was not a good guy, I suppose. He just was not completely evil before what happened. He did want power and probably would've taken it too far even if those things never happened.

True that. Can't argue with that.

I read up on the presequel that he didn't even want to kill his enemies. He spared that one guy that betrayed him twice and that guy still tried to kill him.

So, what did Jack say after he killed him, hmm? This is before Moxxi or or anyone had done anything. So, how did he say that felt?
