"I'm back! Shocked?" Challenge Not Working
I've been stuck at 7 for this challenge for a long time. I read that maliwan weapons don't work for this challenge, so I've used vladof and hyperion shock weapons. Many shock DOT second winds with all of them, but the number does not increase. I've also used a tesla grenade to get shock second winds and those aren't counting either. In one case I threw the tesla, went into FFYL, got a second wind, immediately went into FFYL again and got a second wind again, all without firing a single shot, so the only damage done was from the grenade. Neither of these counted. Am I doing something wrong, or is the game not counting these correctly?

Well after getting more than 500 shock DoT second winds, I finally got the game to count 50 of them. The game is definitely not counting these correctly. Some tips that helped me get them faster:

1. Shock damage relic - mine was +25%
2. Tesla grenade - Get right up next to enemy and throw at your feet right before you're about to die. Make sure enemies have enough health to not be killed by the initial explosion. This also means the enemies need to be near your level.
3. Do this on nomads. They walk so slow that they are usually dead before they can get out of the tesla range. Most other enemies will run away and not die. No proof, but other enemies also seemed to have less of a chance to be counted for the challenge. I got most of them at southpaw steam & power because there are a lot of nomads and other enemies in confined spaces. If you know of a place with more nomads, that would probably be good too.
4. Most of the ones that counted were from tesla grenades, but I also got a few from shock weapons. SMG's are probably the best combination of fire rate and effect chance without doing too much normal damage. Some pistols may be OK too. Try to use one with the lowest normal damage.
5. No proof of this, but like I said above, I read that maliwan weapons don't work for this challenge, so I avoided them. This is unfortunate because they usually have lower normal damage and higher elemental damage and chance.

Try the various legendary Leech grenades in Pete's Bar. I usually max the shock, incendiary and corrosive DoT - FFYL challenges using them.
The trick is not to have them too powerful that they just kill enemies outright, if they do it will not count towardes the DoT challenges.
My characters that I prestige are all OP, from OP5 to OP8. Grenades I use are 72. Logan's Gun I use is also 72. Adjust accordingly to your character's level.

My method.
Take off your shield, then lower your health by carefully using the Logan's Gun, by shooting at the ground near you. When it is very close to where it will only take one shot to put yourself into FFYL, toss the grenade, and then shoot at your feet to put yourself into FFYL. Get the timing right, and you will get one added to the BAR challenge score.

You do not have to venture onto the bar to do this, stay in the doorway. That way you will be able to aim your grenades (longbow are perfect for this) without the usual patrons of the bar interfering too much.

Note that the Leeches are not instant - after they land there is a definite delay until the orbs seek out an enemy and do their thing. Throw a few to get a feel for the timing.
I go to the bar in TVHM and use the above gear. With UVHM the enemies have a lot more health and health regen, so the results are somewhat inconsistent. Respawn fees are just so annoying. :grinsam:

That said, because you will likely be doing this multiple times, I would suggest saving and quitting and reloading after a few successful revives, because your FFYL time will become close to zero if you don't, and that is not a good thing.

Leeches are a world drop, but I have had a lot of luck getting them from the Handsome Sorcerer. Logan's Gun is also a world drop, but farm Willhelm for one, as it is one of his designated drops.

Grenades like the Quasar and Storm Front are just a bit too effective. They just kill enemies outright. I had very limited success using them prior to getting my first Leech.

The remove your shield, lower your health method also works nicely for completing the assorted use of weapons to get out of FFYL challenges. Just lower your health sufficiently, make sure you have your most OP weapon of choice in hand and then wander out into the bar. The residents will oblige by attacking you. Wait until they put you into FFYL and then shoot the closest one with whatever weapon that particular challenge requires. It will take a while, but it is easy to max the achievements for each weapon type this way.

More proof that the shock one is broken...I moved on to the fire one (death, wind and fire) and got them all in less than an hour in southpaw steam & power with a fire SMG. Every time after getting a fire DoT second wind, I checked the challenge screen, and it counted every single one of them.

I'll try your method in pete's bar if I ever get a leech grenade and logans gun.

The Way I Did It Last Time Was > I'm OP 8, I Set My Game To OP Zero
Went to Petes Bar, Threw In A Few Storm Fronts, Then Quickly Downed Myself.
Takes A While Sometimes It's Not The DOT That Actually Kills Them.
Keep Trying It Works.

So when I throw a tesla, go into FFYL, get a second wind (from the shock beam, not the explosion) and don't fire a shot this entire time, but it doesn't count, what killed them? Because that happened 90% of the time.

I've also used shock weapons, stopped firing well before they die, and watched the shock damage kill them to get a second wind, and it doesn't count more than 90% of the time.

The corrosive and fire challenges don't have this problem.

It's a Tesla... the sustained area damage killed them, not the DoT. There is a difference.

Just a quick sample. It's hard to get correct sometimes, keep trying.
If you think it's broken? Fine, Keep trying anyway. If you want the challenge.
