Do yourself a favor and check out python SDK mods for borderlands 2
Super easy to set up and once it's set up you just put the mods in a folder and turn them on in game.

Really great quality of life stuff like auto pickup for currency and ammo.

Improved vendors like in BL3 buy all ammo with one button, sell all items marked trash with one button.

Toggle sprint so that it always sprints when you start to move ,

Loot drop particle effect and sound for good loot.

DOUBLE JUMP ! This one is a game changer, feels so smooth being able to double jump , so many places where you just barely can't reach or you need to stand on something like a barrel or a crate and then jump can no just simple be jumped to.

Exodus mod itself which is what got me interested in python SDK mods in the first place is good enough by itself to check it out, but there is a lot more great stuff if you look.

Yeah looking at it now it does look like an advertisement, but I had just played 8 hours straight after installing the new mods and was a bit tired by still hyped when I wrote it.

Don't like mods , don't worry about it but they do extend the life of games and make them more interesting , new guns , new quality of life features whatever you want there is probably a mod for it.

Just wanted to share it cuz I haven't had that much fun in BL2 in awhile , didn't think it was so controversial to mention modding around here.

doesnt work for co op, most of the mods break when you play with friends
Radiowavehero Dec 24, 2022 @ 2:05pm
Ah sorry I forgot about that , yeah exodus SDK doesn't work in multiplayer , some of the other mods do but I'm not sure which , I only play single player these days , multiplayer can screw up your save files.

Really this topic was for people who are using BLCMM mods currently and haven't tried SDK yet like I was recently. If you only play vanilla or multiplayer you probably don't use mods at all , sorry for the confusion.

Python SDK does work for co-op. Just not with some big overhauls.
It also allows BLCMM textmods to be loaded in-game. I prefer it over the old way lol.

yea but those major overhauls are the reason to install it in the first place, so when they dont work it kinda defeat the prurpose

Nah just play the overhauls with a different character when friends are offline and don't turn them on when you play with friends , they are super simple to turn on and off from in game and super easy to install , just drop a mod in the mod folder.

No need to give up on mods entirely if you are just worried about needing to "uninstall them" to play with friends, in the case of Exodus mod you turn it on each play session at the start, so just don't turn it on if you are playing with friends, other SDK mods you can just turn them off whenever you want from the main menu.

For instance those quality of life mods should still work with friends , stuff like auto picking up ammo or automatically sprinting only effect your game. Simple but useful stuff you can use with friends.

You can still play some overhauls like BL2 reborn in multiplayer as long as everyone has it as well.

Of course if you just don't like mods I'm not going to change your mind but if you are just worried about the multiplayer conflicts it's not a big problem.

Yep that's it, the video guide is handy if you don't already have python SDK on your pc (it's relatively new so you might not) after getting it set up the video shows you where to put the mods and that same site has the mods as well , there is also a discord if you need more help.

(at the top of the page view mods or support discord)

No problem , glad I could help.

Most of the mods stay enabled until you turn them off , but for Exodus mod you need to turn it on from the mod menu before hitting "continue" , when you load your save file you will get a pop up after you start walking around that will tell you if exodus is working correctly so if you don't see it or your guns look different you might have forgotten to load Exodus , I've done that a few times.

Also you can use BLCMM mods with Exodus if you need to , in the exodus folder there is a z_ModExtension_ folder where BLCMM mods can go i use it for things like Red text explainer and better sanctuary shooting range, you just stick the individual mod files there, no need to combine them into a txt file. It's probably explained already on the SDK exodus page but just incase I thought I would mention it.

If you aren't using BLCMM mods don't worry about it.

More of a fan of the Reborn mod myself. After playing Reborn, I just can't go back to any other form of BL2. The unmodded game is just not good compared to Reborn.

It is also possible to play co-op with mods IF all players have the same mod. I've done it plenty before.

Yeah reborn is really good, I played that just before this one, I needed new guns and other loot to hunt for , the old grind was wearing me out.
