Don't like mods , don't worry about it but they do extend the life of games and make them more interesting , new guns , new quality of life features whatever you want there is probably a mod for it.
Just wanted to share it cuz I haven't had that much fun in BL2 in awhile , didn't think it was so controversial to mention modding around here.
Really this topic was for people who are using BLCMM mods currently and haven't tried SDK yet like I was recently. If you only play vanilla or multiplayer you probably don't use mods at all , sorry for the confusion.
It also allows BLCMM textmods to be loaded in-game. I prefer it over the old way lol.
No need to give up on mods entirely if you are just worried about needing to "uninstall them" to play with friends, in the case of Exodus mod you turn it on each play session at the start, so just don't turn it on if you are playing with friends, other SDK mods you can just turn them off whenever you want from the main menu.
For instance those quality of life mods should still work with friends , stuff like auto picking up ammo or automatically sprinting only effect your game. Simple but useful stuff you can use with friends.
You can still play some overhauls like BL2 reborn in multiplayer as long as everyone has it as well.
Of course if you just don't like mods I'm not going to change your mind but if you are just worried about the multiplayer conflicts it's not a big problem.
(at the top of the page view mods or support discord)
Most of the mods stay enabled until you turn them off , but for Exodus mod you need to turn it on from the mod menu before hitting "continue" , when you load your save file you will get a pop up after you start walking around that will tell you if exodus is working correctly so if you don't see it or your guns look different you might have forgotten to load Exodus , I've done that a few times.
Also you can use BLCMM mods with Exodus if you need to , in the exodus folder there is a z_ModExtension_ folder where BLCMM mods can go i use it for things like Red text explainer and better sanctuary shooting range, you just stick the individual mod files there, no need to combine them into a txt file. It's probably explained already on the SDK exodus page but just incase I thought I would mention it.
If you aren't using BLCMM mods don't worry about it.
It is also possible to play co-op with mods IF all players have the same mod. I've done it plenty before.
