Veruc or Hammerbuster?

Both aren't too good and are the only assault rifles I have, both are also level 19. Thoughts? Which should I use? My class is Mechomancer.

In my opinion, you shouldn't use assault rifles on Gaige unless you are completely forgoing anarchy. However, between the two I would stay veruc if you are facing large sized enemies and the hammerbuster if they are relatively small.

I wouldn't bother with either.

Just because a weapon is a legendary doesn't make it good.
Just because a weapon ISN'T a legendary doesn't make it bad.

What level is your character? You make it sound like you're well past 19. Even good legendaries become obsolete while you're still leveling.

Gaige works well if she can throw a lot of lead in the air. High pellet counts are what you're looking for. I'd favor Shotguns and/or SMGs with her. A same-level Lascaux is an excellent weapon for Gaige (and one of the most effective weapons for Gaige to use against airial targets in my personal experience).

I've also had lots of fun with a Thunderball Fists, More Pep makes Gaige REALLY good with Shock weapons.

Assault Rifles are okay for Gaige, but I wouldn't stick with one just because you happen to have a legendary.

Yeah... at level 25 ... even a legendary that's 6 levels lower than you will start to get old.

There's a shooting range in Marcus' basement. Try out the various weapons you have, see which one does the most body damage, the most crit damage. Fire off a few clips, see if they have any special effects.

Experiment. Try a few blue/green weapons for comparison.

I agree with nakos. Just because a gun is legendary does not make it good. There are some that just are terrible but there are some purple and pink regular weapons that are really good.

All Assault Rifles are garbage in Borderlands 2.

Almost all AR's in BL2 are useless. That said, of the two you have, the Veruc is likely to be of a bit more use to Gaige, because the shot splits into three and Gaige has Close Enough. If you get hold of a corrosive version, it simply destroys loaders - three critical hits with one shot is possible, but maybe not when Gaige has a huge Anarchy stack. :)

While there is a class mod that lets Gaige make better use of AR's, the whole weapon class is Bad.

Oh really? Why the insults when you have no clue how I play? Of the three guesses of my playstyle your score is 0/3.

Of the AR's you mentioned, I have kept the more useful ones and have tried them all. They all sort of work in certain circumstances, no argument. The only ones I put in my backpack are the Bekah, Hammerbuster and Seraphim, for the odd occasions I want to use an AR and that is almost exclusively when I am doing BAR challenges again after a prestige. As general combat weapons, nah, there are better alternatives for the characters I play.

I often switch to the Harold for screenshots because it is less intrusive.
Yes I know about the Hail, and the Leadstorm for that matter, and how to use the things. They are not that effective for general combat but they have their place.

Wtf has the Bee got to do with this? Or the Infinity? Or are you just looking for vague justifications for insults? Gosh! I have used a Sandhawk to farm Pyro Pete - so all I ever do according to you is BeeHawk? Wrong.

AR's in BL2 are not a good choice for weapons. In Borderlands they worked properly, and I used them almost exclusively. The BL2 Ogre is laughably crap compared to the BL1 version. I have both and have used both and if I was able to use the BL1 Ogre in BL2 I would jump at the chance.

ARs are unfortunately the worst choices for most characters in BL2. I know Krieg and Axton will benefit greatly from ARs however in UVHM I see myself only using specific ARs such as the KerBlaster from a mid- to long- range and yes most ARs perform terribly. Mid to close range or in point-blank I always prefer to use either a pistol or a SMG. RLs only if my window of time for 2nd Winds runs low.

I've made use of some ARs in BL1 but that's because I've always come across either a Revolver, Pistol, Shotgun, or SMG. And they're good.
