Tips for TVHM Salvador?

I'm just finished Normal Mode for Salvador, but am spending much more time in FFYL than playing the game even in Southern Shelf. I'm going down the Gun Lust skill tree, but is it my gear's problem, or am I going down the wrong tree? Because Salvador really isn't sounding like the insane overpowered character he is.

This is my second character, my first being Maya, so I'm not new to TVHM

EDIT : I am using a Sniper, which makes me die a lot less, but I feel like I'm missing the fun, I'm not using my Action Skill at ALL

the trick with sal is to be gunzerking as much as possible, the favourite combo is harold/rubi or grog which gives insane damage and heals you at the same time, so putting points in money shot inconcievable yipee yi kay last longer in the first and second tree is advisable, but any combo with high damage and moxxi healing weapon works

UVHM Salvador is extremally OP with DPUH (Double Penetrating Unkempt Harold) and Grog Nozzle. Sniper guns are bad for gunzerker, cause his main power comes from his skill, u just gotta go thru TVHM and then get grog nozzle and farm for dpuh. With these two weapons u can basically destroy almost every enemy without maybe few raid bosses. For now u just gotta find two weapons of the same type, i recomend pistols (but not from Jakobs Corporation).

+1. more fun than sherrif sal, requires more skill than sherrif sal, almost impossible to run out of ammo, people wont hate you when you play co-op

Levelling up sal can be very dififuclt. The problem is his action skill is prett y much useless unless you have guns that synergize. I do reco,mmend deputy sal, all you need to farm is a slag rubi with a mag greater than 10, only once, level of this does not matter, a deputys badge, and an orphan maker/jakobs quad. The quad since its a non-uninque can be farmed from anywhere in game which makes it pretty easy to obtain. Also perhaps it would be helpful to farm an adaptive shield from any vending machine. the increase in health should help out a bit
