Servers still up?

Hey guys, I tried google and the website and all that but cannot see if the PC Steam (or any PC version) still has servers for me to play this with my friends? I know the PS3 servers died but heard that the PC servers for this game migrated but don't know if they did so successfully or what.

Anyone playing this online now?

There are quite a few people who still play the game extensively (myself included, but on PS4 right now though). Most people nowadays prefer to play in offline mode with their friends.

I prefer to play with my friends too but they are a..holes you know what i mean, we all working and find the time to play together is not that easy, but when we all have time, most of them are rather playing fu.king war thunder or other kind of bullsh.t. and I mean real friends not just steam friends, its nearly impossible to drag them out even for a beer... that is sad :( where is that times when we were all sitting in one room and play games all day long :( now i have 18 friends on steam who plays BL2 but there is berly one of them online most of the time :(

When you guys say host I think of hosting more like I am their server and they join my server. You guys now sound like the word host is just to create a game on the Borderland servers.

Tons of confusion. Am I the server or does Borderlands 2 stiill have dedicated servers? I heard the Ganespy servers all dropped BL2 so who is hosting (server word) all players?

its realy simple when you are in game, there is network options... you can set it to public- enyone can join you via ingame matchmaking, or Friends only - only your steam friends can join,
or offline - solo play, or lan - some one can join you only via lan.

when you playing you heve created a seasion and it depends on your network setings who can join you, so you don't have to do nothing, just start game and play, when your network setings is set to friends only, your friend will see your steam nick in right uper corner in main menu or when game is paused, then click on your name and join or invate or wiew steam profile...

Borderland 2 was never on GameSpy, that was Borderlands, the first one and it was moved to Steamplay and people with the disk based were allowed to use a tool to migrate to Steam.

There was never any stand alone servers for Borderlands 2, when you host the game you are the host, if you wish, you are the server.
