Who's the best SMG class?

I tried to Google it a few days ago in my spare time and I couldn't find any good character for SMGs except for Maya/Siren.

Any thoughts? I hope I'm not wasting your time and thanks if you chose to read this discussion post!

In BL1 Siren was by far the best SMG class. In BL2 not so much - good SMGs work well with all classes.

In BL1 Siren was by far the best SMG class. In BL2 not so much - good SMGs work well with all classes.

Nah, Maya is still bar far the best SMG class in BL2 thanks to the cat com and beeing the best beehawker.

Well it depends, an SMG like the b!tch is best with zer0. All splash damage SMG's like plasma casters and the florentine would be best with Axton. Most other's I would say are best with Maya. And Maya is best overall

Any class can use SMGs in BL2. They're a versitile weapon. That having been said, Maya is kind of the best with them.

Maya gets the Cat class mod (legendary being best, but even an ordinary Cat mod is a boost). The Legendary Cat mod can boost SMG damage by up to 135% (I believe). The drawback being a reduction in accuracy, but that doesn't really seem noticable in actual play.

The B!tch is probably my favorite SMG for it's incredible accuracy, and bonus crit damage. Because of its accuracy, the B!tch can be used effectively at much longer range than most SMGs.

The Sandhawk offers more raw DPS, but the arcing shot pattern, the slower muzzle velocity, and the Dahl burst fire characteristics make it a bit more difficult to handle.

And ... don't forget to equip a Bee Shield.

Of course, no true man could play anything other than a character who spends his time flinging an oversized, increasingly ineffective phallus around the battlefield, with dialogue embodying the oddly suppressed homoeroticism of most military shooters.

But yeah, on point, Nakos is right and Maya is probably the strongest at SMGs. A good Cat mod will not only give you an SMG boost (the best OP8 mod I've yet found gives a massive 138% additional SMG damage) but also gives you extra points in Wreck, which increases fire rate and damage when you have an enemy phaselocked. That's great for all guns, but particularly for SMGs, when you consider their already high rate of fire.

Also, she is the prettiest. :D
