Question about love thumper

so everyone says the love thumper is really good for meelee builds
but i have a shield that is better than it in every way
dont remeber when i got it

anyways which shield should i use

4 levels difference in the stats, so naturally the blue shield has higher stats.

Also, the blue one does not have red flavour text.

Edit: Plus the recharge delay is intentional on the Thumper, you can roid more since it stays depleted longer. So in this case, the lower level shiled has the "better" stat if you want to use it for melee.

First: one shield is higher leveled than the other. A lvl 20 Love Thumper would have higher stats.

Second: The Love Thumper has a long recharge time, making it easier to manage your shields for the roid damage bonus. I consider the Love Thumper to be the second best melee shield in the game; the best being the Hide of Terramorphous. It is also infinitely easier to acquire than the Hide of Terramorphous.

Third: Be careful using the Love Thumper in multiplayer. The explosive nova will hurt and/or kill your teammates.

Yep you've got it figured out, all right. No, there's more to gear than red or green arrows. See, the arrows are applied based on very simple rules. They are not smart. More is not always better, less not always worse. Use them both and do some melee runs. The bottom line in this game is use what works for you. And that might not work for everyone else.

Was trying not too spoon feed hm too much. But you guys beat me to it. I mean, why ask when you can just try stuff out and see?

If thumping you is wrong, I don't want to be right – Enormously high recharge delay. High roid damage. When shield is depleted, in addition to normal Roid bonus the shield also produces an explosive nova every time the user connects with a melee attack.


in other words the love thumper is still better than the lvl 16 maylay shield.
