Duke of Orc in Tiny Tina DLC...

...What just happened? O_o

I was facing the first Duke of Orc in the dwarven mines. Somehow he leveled up to level 39. I'm only level 34. I tried everything I could think of to get away from his attacks and chip away at his health, but he killed me like three or four times and I was just about ready to ragequit, 'cuz even my rocket launcher was doing piddling damage againt him.

Then, on my last attempt, I lured him out over the minecart rails. He leaped after me to do that insta-death-ranger-hammer-slam(tm), and then just... died.

He missed me, and then... I mean, he literally -died- when he slammed the hammer down. He was at practically full health and just keeled over the moment he dropped the hammer. I'm so confused. What just happened? I mean, I'm glad I don't have to save and reload and redo this area, and that I don't have to fight him anymore, but I wanna know why he died. I don't get it! @_@ Halp!

Also... what makes him level up, anyway? Is it ally deaths? Is it just automatic over-time? I started trying to kill him when he was level 36, but he kept on leveling up before I could finish him off, all while other orcs were getting in my way and I had to try and kite him.

Duke of Orc is normally a lower level orc enemy, around your level. But as he spends time alive and in battle, he'll do a roar. He and any orcs nearby will get a red glow and level up. He gets a name change as he does it, eventually becomign Duke of Orc.

It was probably the almighty minecart.

Until you're better equiped to handle them, running away works well, they forget about you without having to get too much distance on it.

I know it's 2025, but this just happened to me and I can't replicate it. However, my game did glitch from thereafter. Mostly sfx stuff. So I rebooted from title. Just wanted you to know you're not alone. If you even see this. GG man.
