On the F-310, it's a switch with X and D positions (you want X.)
You may also need to install Logitech software on your PC in order to get full functionality, some Logitech peripherals are like that.

Yeah, if Macs won't recognize Xinput, then, yeah, I think you're screwed. Sorry, buddy.
Anyway, the GAME supports Logitech pads.
Apparently Macs don't.
I guess (?) the question becomes, will a Direct Input controller, on a Mac, work with Borderlands 2.
I suggest you repost with that as the title, and maybe post it in a Mac forum, too.
