Some guns are really wonky with their stability (this is intentional), so try to get those weapons that have a high stability. Since the stability stat is hidden, maybe try the wiki or something, or just play the game and try to find out yourself.
But I can assure you there are guns that have good stability and as a result have a lot less sway.
This, too.
Edit: Also Relics and Badass Ranks (for Accuracy and Recoil) plus Dahl made weapons usually are stable and accurate, also the automatic burst fire while zooming is pretty good, but that's just my opinion.
I hate Hyperion guns, but those have that "reverse stability" thing where it gets more stable and accurate the longer you hold the trigger.
Edited some more because I am frickin' confused this morning and put in stupid mistakes, sorry about that.
It's not really the type of gun, it's more the manufacturer (mostly).
Hyperion made guns (regardless of Pistol, or Sniper Rifle, or whatever) feel godawful on first sight, but they are the most accurate/stable guns in the game, you can pretty much just hold the trigger down and after a few shots (depending on the gun), it is spot-on until the magazine is dry.
Dahl-made guns have very decent stability and accuracy (those 3-shot-while-zoom-guns you said you use already), and those come in other types, too (like SMGs and Sniper Rifles).
Srry if I misinterpreted your reply, just making sure you got the point, because it makes getting the hang of this game much easier.
Cheers and have fun!
I like the aiming system. If you want to say ♥♥♥♥ you to that system and play by missing absolutely everything while being totally successful in killing everything there's always Gaige.
