Winhelm is way to difficult for a first boss fight

I have to deafeat winhelm but i can barley beat it at all! Help me please!

Just make sure you pack a shock weapon in case you dont kill his surveyors in time, and a corrosive to pound him with when his shield is down

Tiny Tina's Teapot (Corrosive Pistol) is your best friend for Wilhelm. It's the second best Corrosive pistol next to the Hornet. Get it, wreck Wilhelm and move forward.

OR, you can easily get a Bad Touch (Corrosive SMG) from Moxxi by tipping her in Sanctuary. It has a built in +70% Critical Hit Damage bonus so it'll mop up Wilhelm real quick on criticals or otherwise.

Nobody should have trouble on Wilhelm. He's actually one of the easiest bosses you'll face.

ok... shock weapons are weapons that take down shields quicker and they are blue (not the rarity color, the weapon color) and corrosive are green (once again not rarity but the color the weapon is) Use your shock weapon to take out the blue bar if he has one then use your corrosive weapon to take out his other hp bar.

And if you don't have either of those then you need to farm or see if you can buy one off of a gun shop.

As for your ammo problem, try to get eridium so you can get ammo upgrades from the black market, or... if you've already done that then you just need to aim better.

What Lvl are you, and what has Wilhelm? Maybe thats the problem :)

Corrosive shotgun with a good fire rate and clip (Bandit) a good Tediore rocket launcher for its quick fire relaod (Vladof will work too) and a singularity grenade with corrosive damage. Running like a thief while you shoot Wilhelm helps as well because he gets pre-occupied with overturning train cars to have loaders attack you, thus giving you time to chop away at him with a rocket launcher

Here's a tip. Before you fight wilhelm, do the tiny tina sidequest to get the Teapot gun. this will make fight so much easier. Then get you a shock grenade that does continuous damage to surrounding enemies.

Toss all grenades at wilhelm, fire gun, profit.

i posted the following in a thread last week, but its still true:

the 2 biggest things for whilhelm are his shield and not dieing. (i know right?)

up to now, pretty much every boss that has a shield, you can just shoot thru it. but if there are 1-2 of the flying drones repairing his shield, you aren't going to get it down. dont even bother shoot him if theres more than 1 drone. shoot the drones.

The bad part about shooting drones is if you get a Fight for your Life, the drones would be easy targets. but you just can't leave em up. if you can cripple,but not kill a couple of the gun loaders, you can try to ignore them, and then if you need a FFYL you can shoot the loader to revive.

In my opinion, a powerful shock weapon is probably more important than a corrosive weapon. (for this one fight -- corrosive usually better when robots are around)

I think my last toon that fought him at lvl 13ish, i used a corrosive rocket launcher (but saved it til his shield was down), a shock hyperion shotgun that was like 5x shock damage, and had a decent size clip. the shotgun was accurate enough I could kill a drone with it too.

and I had some so-so corrosive pistol, which I used to fight the loaders on my way tehre, so I had good ammo still by the time i got to wilhelm.

dont rely on a shock pistol. they just fire too slow, you will be spending 90% of the fight trying to get his shield down, and then he will FFYL you. same goes for a corrosive pistol.

if your weapons stink, i kill baddies to get some cash, then gamble at slot machine for chance to get eridium and maybe some decent green/blue weapons.

Wilhelm is the easiest boss in the game if you are on a decent lvl and have a gun that does more than five damage. You should be around lvl 14 to fight wilhelm. I would recomend getting the teapot and a tesla grenade. His shield isnt a problem if you take out his serveyors imediately after they spawn. If his shield does get up tesla grenades will take it down fairly quick. Without his shield he is extremely squishy and is easy to kill. Good luck!

@combustableLemons - because it seems like Moxxie only gives you the one Bad Touch per character (not per playthru) I'd avoid using that for a low lvl character. plus at lv 15 it's hard to afford 50k in tips.

@empol wilhelm is the first real boss of the game, everything else before that is mostly just badass types. after you've killed him a lot, yeah, he's easy, but for new people he's a shock, I remember the first time I was hiding behind a train car and he pushed it off the cliff, taking me with it. I was like WHAT!

Id agree you should be over lvl 14 to fight wilhelm; I'm usually 13-14 for a Damn Fine Rescue, at least at the end. I get a level or 2 in the tundra, so probably lvl 16ish when I fight wilhelm.

it really depends on my weapons tho. if I have crappy shock and crappy acid weapons, it's really hard. My zero tried to fight him with a corrosive sniper as my only acid weapon, and it wasn't enough. I had to quit for the night and come back after gambling for a better weapon or two (got a decent torque explos shotgun for taking down his shield, and then did Tiny Tina's Teapot quest chain for the corrosive pistol. the full-auto fire on tina's pistol makes it better than it "should be".

10k. Bad Touch is for 10,000 in Tips, not 50,000. Not nearly as hard to afford, and if this is the persons first character, it is hard to go wrong with when they get Bad Touch, so long as there are Armored enemies to use it on, which is all the Wilhelm fight is, and there are plenty more in the coming missions.

Here's my Recommendation to the OP.

Get a Slag Betty and a Corrosive gun. Better yet, get something that can slag Willhelm and then shoot him in the crotch with a Corrosive gun. You can get the Teapot(A Corrosive Pistol) from Tiny Tina after completing the FleshStick quest line.

You'll find he goes down MUCH easier.
