What kinda gun type is it?
Anyway, the KerBlaster can be quite useful, and just fun. It's a grenade AR, which I never use, so I didn't try a KerBlaster for a long time. But instead of just lobbing a grenade for a relatively short distance, the KerBlaster fires a rocket (basically), that flies straight and has a very long range, and when it impacts, it explodes and releases a child grenade.
I would usually go for a Nasty version, for higher damage, but I think some people prefer Plump, because that gives you a larger mag, and the KerBlaster uses 4 rounds per shot, and a larger mag means more shots without reloading.
Here's the Wiki page:

Semi-random tip:
If you have the Torgue DLC, Badassasaurus Rex (boss) deflects bullets from most guns, but not the KerBlaster "bullets" or grenades, so the KerBlaster is a safe (albeit slower) weapon to use against him.
yes, it's that good...
as Mr Torque would say " EXPLOOOOOOOOSIONS !!!!!!!
Plumpy gives lots of them.
Could you be more specific? What do you mean by "blue/pink"? Blue is obviously just a regular gear color. Did you maybe mean cyan?
"Pink" could mean E-tech or Seraph.
You're introduced to E-tech weapons during a side mission for Zed. You just find those, like any other gear. They're basically on the same level as purple weapons.
Seraph gear is only found in the four original campign DLC's (Pirate, Torgue, Hammerlock and Tina). You can get it from special vendors, if you have some Seraph crystals, or from specific bosses.
Pearlescent (cyan) weapons are generally only found when you're playing UVHM, and I think you need at least one of the level cap increases. The slot machines in the Tina DLC can also produce "pearls" in Normal Mode or TVHM, but, again, I think you need to have at least one level cap increase before your game will include pearls.
EDIT: I do have both level cap DLCs. But I've only the Pirate Campaign DLC.
Just making sure about the E-tech.
As for the others, the links below should get you started. The Wiki's not perfect, but, if nothing else, it's probably a good starting point. On the pearl page, scroll down to the section for BL2 (the first section is for BL1, which also had pearls).

Tho where this weapon really shines is when used by Axton or Krieg
You know how much we enjoy getting notification from long dead threads?
