whats the shield capacity on lv50 ?
farming it on my commando for my gaige but no luck but wanne be sure if its worth it if i didnt spend time farming for nothing

The Wiki has a few examples with 34 - 40K capacity, so I guess in that ballpark.

at level 50 the black hole shield is around 40000 capacity depending on recharge rate (faster recharge lower capacity) and does about 100k damage with nova blast.

And you can usually get one from the forman in around 20 or so tries give or take.

Edit: Stats of a level 50 I have...

3394 recharge
2.57 delay
111422 nova damage
1024 radius

The black hole has a lower cap than that (heck a lvl 50 bee I have only has a little over 20K cap), but the shield is a beast, esp if using with gaige and the little big trouble tree. The shield can get you out of a FFYL by itself. And if not it drops them at your feet for you to finish off.

Its one of three or four shields I carry at all times.

With gaige, i would recomend having it in your inventory (esp if you plan to invest in the little big trouble tree).. Like I said the cap on a level 50 bee is even lower about 22k I think. And the cap on a lvl 50 hoplite I have is 150k.

It all depends on the shield type and what it can do.

FWIW, if you look at "total health" as health + shield capacity, they're actually about the same. From that POV, the Black Hole is much better, since it also has its special effect. Of course a good Turtle (blue or purple) should be much better than that white one. Comparing a legendary shield to a white one is really unfair. :-)

It's not just about capacity. You also have to consider any special effects a shield might have, and how useful they might be to you. I use Bee shields a lot. They provide about as much protection as paper :-), but they suit how I play. OTOH, the Black Hole never sounded that useful to me, but it might be perfect for other people.

Edit: on a side note..with gaige if you have blood soaked shields maxed. then you dont have to wait for a recharge. the shield can activate..and kill someone and blood soaked shields will fully charge the shield.
