How to progress a playthrough with DLC's? Order.
Couldn't really find this info anywhere, but I'm about to finally take the first time plunge into BL2. Got all the DLC's, but I'm unsure of which order to play them in. Ideally I don't want to be over or under leveled, to avoid any intensely boring or frustrating gameplay. It happened to me in the first.

Any info is appreciated!

The main ones start at about level 25 and then scale depending on the games difficulty and your level. They don't really have an order, but you can look up their release dates if you want to go that way.

Ah, good to know. I was quite worried about screwing up my level progression with them. Awesome that they scale, and I plan on playing with the max difficulty. I think I'll try to play them in order of release though.

Thanks for the info!

They get progressively more difficult so I always recommend playing them in order of release, after beating the main game.

well actually torgue's campaign is between 18-25, you can pull it any time, scarlett is 25-30, and I'd recommend not doing Tiny Tina's until a certain plot point with Roland. Hammerlock's is postgame.

playthru 1, just have fun. The DLCs will set to your level when you first go there, I think. but in the long run it doesnt really matter what lvl you do things in playthru 1, you will eventially outlevel all the playthru 1 gear.

without spoilers, I tend to do a lot of sidequests in playthru 1, and I was lvl 36ish when i finished the vanilla game, then I did the sidequests and gradually got to like lvl 40ish from the quest exp (the bad guys are capped at lvl 35 for play thru 1, so I wasn't getting much exp from kills at that point).

Playthru 2 is the one that ppl give a lot of advice on. If you want to get a lvl 50 version of the quest reward, then you want to skip the quest during playthru 2. important - don't even get the quest in your list. after you defeat the main storyline at lvl 50, you can go back to playthru 2, and the quests will have their level set to lv 50. then you can do the quest, earn the lvl 50 version of the reward.

Is that worth the trouble? well it all depends. If you want to get your character up to lvl 72, you won't still be using lvl 50 items. still a lot of ppl spend extra time at lvl 50 to get some good gear to give themselves a head-start for playthru 3.

playthru 3 (Ult Vault Hunter Mode) lifts the lvl cap to 61 (or 72 if you have all DLCs enabled), and the monsters are the same level as you are. Because of this, tehre's a lot of advice not to level up to lvl 55 before starting UVH mode. if you did, the monsters would be lvl 55, but your guns (leftover from playthru 2) would be capped at lvl 50. You would have a real hard time gettng started.

So, the advice is, if you are going to spend a lot of time looking for gear at lvl 50, disable the DLC for the level cap increase while you're doing that. Then once you have the gear you want, and you're ready to start UVHM, turn the DLC back on, and start at lvl 50 with lvl 50 guns, against lvl 50 bad guys.

Anyways, have fun!

(Salvador: Killin Bad Guys is ALWAYS FUN!)

All headhuters like Halloween, Chrismtmas, etc. are lvl 21 and them are fixed to it (I did all at lvl 30 and ddrops was just "skin/head or crap").

The GOTY Booklet for the 360 version implicates that Scarlett/Torgue minimum is 15 and Hammerlock/Tina is 30. I did all of it post game when they came out, mind.

First of all, all of the DLC are set after the events in the main game, and some contain spoilers for events in the main game. In particular, there's a huge one in the opening cinematic for the Tina DLC (the first time you go to Unassuming Docks). So, if you haven't completed the main game at least once, you should do that first, just to avoid spoilers, and maybe understand some references that you might not get.

Levels in Normal Mode (first playthrough):
If you have Digistruct Peak (included with the second level cap increase), that is level 35. Period.
The Pirate and Torgue DLC's have a range from 15 - 30.
The Hammerlock and Tina DLC's have a range from 30 - 35.
The Headhunter DLC's have a range from 15 - 35.

In the 4 campaign DLC's (Pirate, Torgue, Hammerlock and Tina), new missions and maps will generally scale to your level, within the ranges listed above. For example, if you start the Pirate DLC at level 15, the first mission and the first map (Oasis) will be level 15. But if you then leave it and come back later, when your character is level 20, and complete that first mission, the next mission and map will be level 20. Oasis stays at level 15.

The Headhunter DLC's stay fixed at the level they were when you entered them and got the first mission. They only have one map. There is 1 side mission in each HH DLC, but it will be at the same level as the main mission.

That is all in Normal Mode. The levels are, of course, higher in TVHM (second playthrough). Everything in the main game (excluding already accepted missions) in TVHM will scale up to 50 after you complete the final story mission. I am _hoping_ that the scaling in the DLC in TVHM will be similar, but I haven't gotten to the point of testing that yet.

Dumb question - all the

"fixed at the level they were when you entered them"

etc stuff is per each character, right?

Absolutely. Each character's mission level, progress, etc. is separate.

I figured, but thanks!
