Stuck with low level weapons!
I'm up to Bright Lights, Flying City in my first playthrough. But I'm stuck with green level 14-15 weapons. I can't exactly kill enemies in the highlands to get any as my guns do almost nothing to them. What am I meant to do? (I've done all side quests up to this) I've already lost 10k gold from dying against the constructor in Outwash, the nuke thing kept on putting me down to 45 health, even with shield.

There are two weapons chests right there for you to farm. One is under the bridge leading to the constructor. The other (a red chest so your best option) is on top of the high platform overlooking Slappy's pond to the right as you enter the area. Go in the water and loop around to find the ladder.

Fast travel to the fridge, go into the slaughterhouse area and use the vendors, the gear in there levels up to your char usually. If u have TT gun it will do the job on Bright Lights.
Constructors aren't easy. Even if you have decent weapons their attacks can be devastating, so a strategy is needed.

They have a number of different attacks. As the name hints, they construct other bots. They also construct surveyors, which will heal surrounding bots and give the constructor itself a shield. The first thing it will construct is a turret which it sets down in front. Destroy this quickly - it does a surprising amount of damage.

Constructors slam the ground with fire novas if you get too close, so stay back behind cover. They also have a very dangerous laser beam which you should stay out of at all costs.

The nukes are actually the easiest attack to deal with if you're paying attention. You can tell when they're coming because the constructor will put a shield over its eye (don't shoot the shield - it will reflect your damage back at you). When they launch, the the nukes can be shot out of the air. If you do that in ffyl they will give you a second wind.

The attack I find most difficult is the homing rockets. There will be a lot. You can sort of shoot them and just about run away but it's not easy. Cover is best - cower!

To kill a constructor, shoot its eye - the red dot in the middle. Sniper rifles are good cause they let you keep your distance; SMGs or pistols with high fire rate also work. If you have on level guns (they don't have to be amazing) and use cover you should be able to manage it. In the Outwash plant there are some smallish crates by the bridge I crouch behind.

Work your way up to the weapons again. Kill low level stuff, find lootboxes, sell stuff, purchase some meh high level guns and crawl your way back to the top.

Thanks all. I'm probably just going to farm both those chests for a bit, as it seems like the easiest route

If you lack an Infinity pistol or a Hornet Pistol, I would suggest farming Doc Mercy in Three Horns & Knuckle Dragger near Claptrap's Place. Both of these guns are very effective early game. The Infinity can drop as an elemental so it's possible to get a shock or corrosive version with some time/effort. If you farm Knuckle Dragger, you may also want to Farm Boom & Bewm for the Homing Package grenade mode. All of these are legendary level weapons & should be helpful. If you want more info on framing these, there are plenty of how to videos on youtube. Also, if you have access to Tundra Express, there is a developers chest that can be farmed for purple level weapons. As I don't want to spoil anything if you haven't been there yet, I would suggest also searching out a youtube video on this chest. VinylicPumaGaming has a good video on it. Good luck

I did get a hornet for saving roland as I had no other corrosive weapons but it didn't help when I found a corrosive weapon when searching for him. I've got 4 purples already from just that red chest Mystro mentioned. Isn't Doc Mercy level 10? Would that really help? I'm level 19.5 now. But thanks for telling me where to get the Infinity pistol, I've seen people use it before in builds and it looks quite cool.
The Hornet is a nice weapon when it's vaguely on level but, as you found, even legendaries go out of date pretty quickly and you can't get on-level versions untl UVHM. You don't need to farm much before endgame anyway. Once you've found a few fairly decent corrosive guns (they don't have to be blu or above), and perhaps some shock for the fight after the Outwash constructor, you should be set.

The hornet may or may not not be useful if your at level 19. Not sure what level Doc Mercy was at but even an under leveled Infinity is good to have because of its fire rate & infinite ammo. If you end up farming him, try using the geyser to get catapulted to the cliff next to Doc Mercy. It takes a little practice but it will make farming him more efficient.
A level 0 Hornet won't help very much with a c16 constructor, wonderful a weapon as it is. Any green corrosive pistol, SMG, or sniper will do the job.

True but if you go back & farm Knuckle dragger when you're at a higher level, you can get a higher level version which may be useful. I have seen pics of level 20 Hornets (and I think this was what I had come to think of it) & when Caenir hits that level shortly it would possibly be worth going back to farm for.

You should say what char you are as some can kill without needing guns, so you could just do that untill you get some better ones.

But other than that just farm chests, they are everywhere and any gun your level will be able to kill enemies.

That run up to Flynt can be tough. I hate the scavengers wih a passion.

Update: Farming the red chest helped tonnes. I'm a level 20 Axton now. I've got two Blaster rifles, one is fire and the other corrosive both level 19 weapons. I've been doing all good now that I was able to find better equipment. Are there any legendarys around my level that I could farm?
