Here’s some more farming data, this time on the Pimpernel. It’s probably the least interesting, but I ended up spending the most amount of time on it.

This gun has a few things going for it that make it easy to farm for specific versions:
1. It’s Maliwan, so it will always be elemental. There’s probably a 25% chance for each element unlike other guns where each element is <10%.
2. The special prefixes are very common, approximately an 88% chance to get one. This compares ~26% for the Sandhawk and ~16% for the Rapier.
3. The stock appears to do nothing.

So given all this information, there are only 160 unique Pimpernels and the likely probability of each one is the same. This is why I said it’s probably the least interesting, but I decided to collect data anyway.

People that have put way more time into this than I have say the Barking prefix is the best. I’m fairly certain that the Maliwan grip is also the best. It has slightly lower damage and fire rate than the Jakobs, but it has a much faster reload, much larger magazine and higher elemental effect chance. So I set out to get the Barking/Maliwan grip with all four elements. Arguably I should have all of these after collecting 160 of them. After 92 I had fire, slag and shock. I gave up trying to get the corrosive one after 500.

So anyway, here’s the data, even though it’s likely everything is all equal:

Also, the "Captain Scarlet's" prefix can supposedly be overwritten, so it's actual incidence of occurance may be higher.

In terms of prefixes, Gentleman works well with the Bee, Barking is good without the Bee (so it's usually the one I go for), and Banbury gives a nice fire rate boost.

Stock is important. I prefer Dahl or Hyperion (faster recoil recovery).

Maliwan or Jakobs grip. Not very patient with dashboard farming and I don't gib my guns, so whichever comes up first.

The stock doesn't change anything on the card, so I'm not sure what to believe there. Maybe I do some tests to see if there is actually a difference. I'm sure this has been done before...

I was able to collect all four elements of the Gentleman/Maliwan grip. From what I've read, it's actually only a 20% bonus over a normal critical hit, not 120%.

As for barrel, it is always Dahl...

The effects of different parts aren't always detectable from the card. That's why it's worth learning them. Dahl stock is generally a good one to go for, especially for SMGs. If it's possible, I generally like the barrel to match the manufacturer.

I just tweak the gun in gib once I've got it. End result is exactly the same as if I did farm it legitimatley, I just save time. I wish there were ways to manipulate rng in bl2.

I would also think that the Grip would be somewhat dependant on what character you're playing.

A matching Grip is supposed to yeild bonus Reload Speed and bonus Magazine size, which would certainly be valuable for anyone.

I most frequently play Maya though, and the bonus Elemental Effect Chance from the Maliwan Grip isn't necessarily useful to Maya.

I could see wanting a Jakobs or a Dahl Grip. Hyperion wouldn't be bad either.

The Bonus Crit accessory would be really nice too.

I don't gib guns or even use gibbed that much as I enjoy working with what I get. I occasionally do dashboard farm, mostly for weapons I need to do something tricky like raiding. Otherwise I'm just a scavenger.

in my opinion, I think the "Gentlemen's" prefix works best, due to the extra critical damage bonus. so if you run a sniper-build with Zer0 or do the Pimpernel/Ahab exploit with Salvador, this prefix works best.
