Exactly my strategy. Hitting the crystals on their legs with a melee attack will drop their health in big chunks, like about 1/3 per hit. Plus, you only need to do this once per leg.
No. Ladyfist. Their legs are crit areas. Ladyfist has +800 percent crit bonus. Collect your crystals.
IIRC using explosive weapons on Crystalisks makes all shots count as criticals.
