Starting the game in offline mode steam lets me "activate" the patch, but the game straight up crashes instead of doing nothing. Sigh
Here's my quick solution:
- Open .\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\CookedPCConsole\
- Find and rename "UI_Frontend_Upsell_SF.upk" and "UI_Frontend_Upsell_Texture_INT_SF.upk"
I usually add "z-" in front of the file name so these modified files show up last. Easy to find and undo the changes if something goes wrong. If that doesn't work, add ".bak" or any other extension at the end.
Disclaimer: My game works fine but I have no idea if these changes affected something else. Caveat lector.
Save files work fine for me. Saving, loading, gameplay... everything works as before this patch. There's "Tiny Tina's Wonderland" entry in the main menu but I don't know how to remove it yet (it does nothing anyway). Achievements should work fine. I didn't change any achievement files. Anyway, backup your saves just in case.
