Well he is voiced by Marcus Mauldin who is black, but so is Kratos' voice actor in this year's God of War.
I don't think they wanted the character itself to be black though.
And yes, his voice is a dead giveaway :D

Brick's VA is black, and Sir Hammerlock's VA is white. Roland's old VA is black, and voiced both Roland and Krom (a white boss from BL1). I don't think the race of he VA matters. If they wanted Brick to be black, they would've made him black.

Because he looks white. Imo, his skin is too white to be half black, and he has blue eyes.
