PSA: Crashing in the intro, out of memory crashes, potential Gaige crash fix.

Hello.
I've decided to write this post to help people with common crashes since people request help for these every now and then. Take note that not every fix may work for you.

Crashing in the intro, unable to enter the Main Menu, screen freezing in the intro.

This is a recent issue thanks to Gearbox putting advertisements for their latest games in the Main Menu of BL2 if you had the game previously installed on your system.
To fix this, navigate to "Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config" and delete everything in there.
(although, deleting WillowEngine.ini may be enough, but I can't test that theory)

Out of memory crashes and/or low FPS

I would recommend uninstalling the HD texture pack DLC texture pack that gets automatically downloaded every time you install the game anew and installing DXVK for a ~200% FPS and stability increase. The only downside for it is that the lava at The Warrior's lair turns invisible.
P.S: You may experience stutters when using DXVK for the first time and that's fine! The game is caching every shader / effect for the future, you won't experience those stutters afterwards!

General Gaige crashes, Interspersed Outburst crashes

I've found this fix on the Gearbox Forums, it also only works for NVIDIA users as much as I know.

Right click on your desktop and open "NVIDIA Control Panel".
Under "3D Settings", navigate to "Manage 3D Settings".
Click on the "Program Settings" tab and find Borderlands 2 on the programs list, if it's not there, simply add the .exe.
Once Borderlands 2 is selected, find a Feature called "Threaded Optimization" and turn it off, then apply your changes. It should resolve your crashes.
