To start with everything on the peak is digistructed, so what look like flesh enemies from their health bar, are not actually weak to fire. On the peak, corrosive is king.
One of the 4 assassins in the final arena, Oney - big nomad type, is very, very resistant to explosive damage. Using the typical Torgue stuff on him just doesn't work well.
More info needed for any further suggestions.
Another excellent farm for gear is the Marcus Mercenary Day headhunter. After you defeat the snowman there is a lot of varied gear on the loot train. Spend some time there. It will usually provide something that helps. If you don't have this headhunter, buy and download it asap. Seriously.
Torgue machines. Ignore the one in Pete's bar.
Beatdown -> Forge -> Moxxi's bar. 3 to check quickly, then restart and check again.
Recreate your build here and post the url if you want suggestions.

The class is "Commando".
Weapons of choice are:
Double penetrating Unkempt Harold [pistol]
Slippery Kerblaster {assault rifle]
Shield is Snapping Turtle as it has a high recharge rate vs some of the legendary shields I had. Also better overall capacity, and short delay. [289k cap], [31k recharge], [2.3 delay].
Sheriff Badge mod for the pistol, and Mouthwash for the assault rifle.
Last I use the Legendary Soldier mod as I have two turrets.
I spent all morning trying to find out how to find the screen shots of the specs/build, but without any luck I gave up.
Its good to know about the explosive weapons as that they are all pretty much I use. I will see if I still have any corrosive weapons in the vault, as well as try the Torque machines at Maxxi's bar. Thanks for the advice.
The easiest way to get it is probably tree treants in the tina DLC.
As long as it's full it's gonna boost your damage by alot.
Also if weapons have unlisted projectiles (like the sawbar for example) all the projectiles get the full bonus.
Other than that a harold + slag should deal with most things
Corrosive damage is best for doing the peak as nothing there really resists it , and saturns can be a problem.
Also if you didn't finish the clap trap quest in said tina DLC you can get the quest pistol from it (but don't complete the mission or you lose it) , it's the grog nozzle , it will slag and heal you for 60% damage dealt , it may be weak on it's own , but you can shot your harold and switch to it to get the heals.
It can also give you the drunk effect , it will make you shoot slower , but you will shoot a few times at once.
Available from the Torgue vendors, and not at the usual legedary price :)
If you like the Kerblaster, you will love the shiny version from Lilith's, the Peak Opener. The only problem with this one is getting it from the raid boss Haderax. Who isn't that susceptible to normal explosive attacks. He needs to be slagged and fire weapons to stop him regererating health. The Peak Opener is worth the effort though.

Sample Axton 2 turrret build for assault rifle using Axton. I am not an Axton main - I was just wanting to spend the points, so not claiming it is a good build.

I was truly about to give up, and just move on to BL3, as I was getting nowhere this whole week playing the game.
Before advancing to L4, I had only made it to the original arena three times. Each time I was killed almost immediately without a chance to try different weapons.
Of course, tonight, I had given the game several attempts, and on the last try, I wasn't trying very hard. In fact I almost decided to stop after killing the last construction bot, before the last arena.
After defeating the CB, I said, "what the heck", and jumped into the arena. I managed to stay alive, and after defeating the last enemy, much to my surprise [and, disappointment] the level WASN'T OVER!!!
I think I went through three more arena's before the level was finished.
More details on this later if anyone is interested. [ie weapons, mods, shield, etc].
The next couple of levels go over the same extended area, and for the final rounds, you get to fight the end boss, OMWTH in his own arena. You can see the arena from the top area, looking from the bit behind the fast travel. It will still be unexplored on your map.
Other interesting / annoying changes in the higher levels. Spoilers, so I will let you think about these later appearing pair.
The super annoying Dukino's mom in the earlier arena.
And you have Saturn appearing at OP7 iirc. Then 2 of them.
Such fun is Digi. When it all goes according to plan and you see that 'Congratulations, you have achieved...' message, it makes the numerous times you didn't see the message less annoying.
It is the best map in the game, with the best music in the game and More History... is the best mission in the game. Love the place.
probably the weakest character in game
try Maya, Gaige or Salvador
First, I LOVE playing as soldier. I got all the way to OP10 solo.....tips to use.
1) use a bee shield. find one that has a really good recharge delay. Longer delays usually mean you would do more damage, but you cant get the extra damage unless your shield is full.
2) use the Hornet from Knickledragger, and the Hellfire from Scorch, as those legendaries use granade damage bonuses.
3) make sure you have the slag bullets speced into your skill tree.
4) use a lady fist. Best weapon in the entire game. Yeah i said it.
5) take your time getting to the arena.
My four main weapons carried are always a good RL as 1, Lady Fist as 2, Hellfire as 3, Nornet as 4. With teh slag bullets from your turret you can take anything down fairly efficently, as long as youre doing criticals. Lady fist does 800% crit damage. HGellfire works for creatures because of fire damage. Hornet works well against robots. Lady fist is good versus anything. RL helps in fight for your life mode.
Other weapons i have in my inventory....i like to have a shock or slag version of the Lyuda. depending on how i feel, A DPUH. I personally think i take out enemies faster with weponas OTHER THAN the DPUH, even with grande damage bonus speced in.
A fastball is an outstanding grenade.
Com....i use the legendary soldier....where you get a faster cooldown rate, and faster fire rate.
Relics....sherrifs badge is good for the ladyfist, but the best ones are the blood of the ancients. They improve damage with elements and speed up your cooldown rate.
Axton really is underrated, as he may not be TANK-Y, but he can sure shell out the damage, without being a broken cheap-ass character (SEE SALVADOR) That character is for wusses that want the game to be easier. Sorry, guys. I said it

Derch and Demonite know what they are talking about, and Demonite is the best Axton out there. End of story.
Demonite's YT channel, has lots to interest Axton players.

The biggest hurdle is trying to find enough ammo to put up a decent fight.
The other issue is that the weapons you acquire aren't up to par with the bots you're facing [this includes the legendary weapons].
I have found that inching your way into a new arena is a great way to fight less adversaries at once, vs walking right on in, and having them spawn up to 4, or more, at a time.
Oddly enough the legendary Torque pistol [something Harold] seems to be the best to deal with just about anything. Of course this is where the lack of ammo vending machines comes into play.
Managing your ammo is something you'll learn to do in the Peak. Just don't open the boxes and containers until your ammo is low. The game is coded to give you more ammo of the type that is currently low. I think there is also something about the type of guns in your inventory and loadout i.e. if you only carry sniper rifles, you are more likely to get sniper ammo, but have never bothered myself.
Using several "main" guns that use different ammo can also help relieve the ammo pain. On my Leg. Hunter Zero, I main a pistol (Hornet most of the time), but can switch to a shotty, SMG or Sniper if my ammo is low or if they suit the enemy I'm fighting right now (ex: shotties are great for spiderants, you can run tight circles around them while shooting them in the bum, and they'll never hit you). Of course, your build must be able to support different gun type (but nothing stopping you from switching Coms in the middle of the peak).
The Bee shield will also help with ammo since you'll use less bullets to kill things, but it has very low capacity so you have to be careful. It's also not suitable for all areas, but I always have one in my backpack for when I feel like using it. The Peak and some bosses and raids are the only places were I consider the Bee ok to use, it's vastly overkill for anywhere else in the game.
