Default Offline Mode?!
Anyone know how to get the game to launch in offline mode by default again instead of always starting an online session (without setting Steam in offline mode)?

If you want to play offline, it's easy to do but you can't get around using Steam's launcher if you're playing it on Steam. Upon seeing the launched opening screen options, scroll down the left-side options, click on Networking, set it to Offline Mode, return to opening screen options and click on Continue. You'll be playing offline. If this doesn't suit you, you know that you don't need Steam to play the game ~ it can easily be played outside of Steam.

The problem with that is it doesn't change the default. Every time I start the game up it still defaults back to online again. I have no interest in playing it with other people and have played the game solo just fine in the past (I even have an OP8 Mechromancer completely solo).

You can always launch Steam itself in offline mode when you plan to play BL2.

I feel your pain. As I tried to imply, your issue isn't with any party except the former "Gearbox Software" tech design. And contrary to many folks' advice about contacting Gearbox directly on this and other such matters, they won't respond any longer with anything more than a canned reply as the company from Texas was sold to the Swedish Embracer Group AB last year. Making the ultimate "winner" of all Gearbox games its former boss Randy Pitchford who got a cool $2 billion dollars for the sale ~ welcome to Computer Gaming 2022.
