With 1.3 hours in the game, my advice would be to avoid mods until you know how the game works, what the story is, visited the DLC's etc.
The Randomizer mod would not even make my list of mods in your case.
The various mods do not have content as such. They are a collection of modifications people have made to gear, certain game behaviours and the like - existing stuff is modified.
The only mod that adds actual new content is Exodus. But it is for solo play only. Again, something to consider when you have completed the vanilla game.
Right now, you and your friend would be better off just playing the game and learning how it all works.
In which case, have a good look at what they use and do the same.
Btw, the many many thousands of hours you console players claim to have done on console - doesn't automagically show on your Steam profile. All that could be suggested was based on your Steam hours.
See what Joltz and K6 used, visit nexusmods and take it from there.
TY, and i figured it didnt count my xbox time on here after you said only had 1.5hr playtime lol.
Even better: check out Borderlands Reborn, it's community patch+new stuff for an enhanced vanilla experience.
Otherwise if you want some serious mayhem, just look up some randomizers or triple spawn stuff.
