1. Open the game, then close the game (generates ini file. Only needed if the game has just been installed in steam)
2. Go to documents\My games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config
3. Open the WillowInput.ini file within the config folder
4. Use ctrl+f and find ConsoleKey= and TypeKey= make them ConsoleKey=Tilde
TypeKey=Backslash Then save the file and close it.
5. Download BLCMM from nexus and start it. Press borderlands 2 in BLCMM and press the 2 buttons to make the hexedit excutable and remove array limit active.
6. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries
7. Throw your txt file there next to the other folders. In this example patch.txt
8. Start game, hit ~ or \ and type exec patch.txt and press enter. The mod is now running (If it says "says exec patch.txt" repeat step 5 by pressing tools at the top of BLCM, and selecting to setup game files and do step 5 again. the try starting up again)
Worked like a charm, thanks!
For some reason the last time I tried using the Community Patch I couldn't get it to work. The exec patch.txt command wouldn't work and BLCMM kept giving me errors, so I gave up on it. But this time, following your steps, it worked fine. I vaguely remember BLCMM having issues in the past, particular with Gearbox releasing patches, so that might've been it.
I guess 5.0.3 is still the latest version?
