PC users have to downgrade by downloading older versions off Google Drive to play with Mac users. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2014284368
At least this game is old enough that it really shouldn't be recieving any major updates. And hopefully my brother can buy a pc soon so we can both play instead of having to downgrade so I can crossplay with him!
Us spend some money for the goodwill of existing customers or screw them and keep the money? No-brainer. 2K is all about the money. Never forget that.
Screw all those people who gave us money when they bought the game for Mac / linux, we don't care about them. PC and consoles are where the real money is.
The current bun fight between Epic and Apple is all about Fortnite.
Steam can't do anything there - it is just the storefront and a store simply can not tell other companies that they need to create a product for different Operating-systems. Neither can Crepic (but they can incentives to not port the game it would be strange given that they also sell games on Mac)
Aspyr can not do anything either - neither would they get any money, nor do they have the neccessary sourcode, and it would be illegal for them to even do so without 2K and gearbox contracting them.
