TVHM Mod for less spongy enemies?
As the title says, is there are mod for TVHM and the one following that that solely reduces enemy health so that they aren't as spongy? I don't care about intended design cause the intended design is ♥♥♥♥ in my eyes and I don't care about gitting gud either. I just want to keep playing the game while getting gear and enemies that match my level all the way to the level cap of 70something. Is there a mod that makes enemy health stop being so obnoxious?

If you at all optimize your build, and farm on level legendaries or use certain quest guns - you should be easily killing the enemies in TVHM.

As for rebalance for UVHM - i think there are mods for that, you should check nexus.

I don't want to 'have to' farm legendary enemies or use specific quest guns or "optimize" my build in a specific way. I played the game by simply playing the game prior to TVHM and I want it to go back to that way just with enemies and loot scaling with me. I didn't look to min/max and use guides for the best builds or anything, I just played the game, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ around, killed some bandits. If I have to change my attitute towards playing the game to be a try-hard then that defeats the purpose of why I even played the game to begin with which was a chill shooter looter while listening to podcasts.

And the mods I've been able to find on Nexus so far are too much of total revamps that changes dozens of things. All I'm looking for is specifically a way to lower the health of enemies, even more specifically the really REALLY spongey enemies, so that they are easier to kill. I don't really want any other change to the game than that.

start with UCP https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands2/mods/50/

if that's not enough check https://github.com/BLCM/ModCabinet/wiki/Borderlands-2

in the balance section there are some mods

https://github.com/BLCM/ModCabinet/wiki/BL2%20General%20Gameplay%20and%20Balance%3A%20Game%20Mode%20Balance

not sure if they affect TVHM... if the UVHM mods don't affect TVHM, you could try Slagfree vanilla, this removes the slag damage bonus and compensates with lower enemy HP. and by the point you get to UVHM you can restore slag and use one of the rebalance mods or both combined.

there are a lot of options so it might take a few tries to find a option you like...

Thank you, I'll try these later.

Ok, new question, is there a save folder for my save file that I can copy paste somewhere because as this game has an autosaving system I'm worried that if I install a mod and I try it out and decide against it that it might mess up the save file somehow.

making backups is never a bad idea. i switched around different combinations a lot and never encountered a problem. and still making backups stays a good idea.

if you're going to give information, at least be accurate.
it's :

It's not something you can add onto an existing game, but the Exodus mod is great for solving that issue, and not only does it rebalance the game, it adds new content and changes up the mechanics a bit in interesting ways. It's singleplayer only so all the lategame stuff is balanced around that and made to be less spongy/grindy.

Honestly, if you find TVHM to be too "bullet spongy" ... well, that is actually what Normal mode is for. If it's become TOO easy, then start a new character (and don't pass down any old weapons).

The point is that the modes are intended as difficulty steps for those who (upon leveling up and getting better gear) find the existing areas and difficulties to be too easy. The game offers many tools for optimizing your build, if you choose NOT to avail yourself of those ... well, that's not exactly typical behavior, and the game isn't really built to support it (beyond what I've already said about Normal Mode being a thing).

Specs are easy and cheap to change at any New-U station.

If you were to post yours using this handy skill calculator: https://bl2skills.com/vanilla.html

Lots of people would be willing to offer you tips on a more optimized build.

I don't care about its intended design, that's why I'm looking for mods to alter it because I disagree with its design. I don't want to min/max and I want to enjoy the content of the game without damage sponges. Damage sponges =/= difficulty.

Mostly it's not even the normal enemies I have much of an issue with. Armored Maniacs are annoying because I haven't found a good acid weapon yet so I have to be careful with head critting them. The problem I have is with boss type enemies or badasses. Where I unload clip upon clip upon clip into them. It's just tedious.

Yeah, I understand, but here you are looking for a mod which may or may not exist (I don't personally know) and even if it does, may not be easy to install. Tweaking your spec a little isn't going to be any more difficult than manually installing a mod.

The point I'm trying to make here (and I'm trying to avoid being disparaging here) is that there aren't really any bullet sponge enemies in TVHM. I get that you don't want to bother with any of the mechanics, but it doesn't really take a whole lot of "min-maxing" to be able to treat TVHM pretty much identically to Normal mode.

Well, first of all, make sure your weapons are up to date. Underleveled weapons do less damage. A white quality on-level gun will do more damage than a 5 levels old legendary of the same time.

Second: Knuckledragger drops a Legendary pistol called the Hornet that does corrosive damage. It's about a 10% drop rate.

Third, Explosive works on everything. It isn't as good as Corrosive against Armored targets, but it's still better than anything else. And Torgue Pistols and Shotguns are pretty easy to acquire. I'd suggest a Bang Stick or a Double Lovin' Pounder, they're more accurate and more useful out to medium range.

Fourth, if you really can't kill something slag it.

I know you're just looking for some mindless entertainment, but it really doesn't require very much optimization before TVHM does feel pretty much like Normal mode.

Yeah I decided to give it another go and maybe I was just really lucky with the weapon drops but I have weapons that actually feel like they pack a punch now. The other weapons weren't even that underleveled. Lowest one was 2 levels below my at then current level.
I've also diversified my weapon loadout specifically to counter some of the changes and I'm trying out slagging badasses and then switching to another weapon which I'm quite amateurish at but so far I feel like I've adapted a lot better.

Like I said, I think I just got lucky with my weapon drops cause I got nearly precisely what I needed.

So no mods needed so far actually. Though I did try on the giant snowman boss in one of the headhunter DLC's and that felt nearly impossible due to the massive damage he does and how difficult I found it to avoid his attacks. That made me almost consider it.

Considering I plan on doing the DLC's when I'm at the level cap though (apart from that one headhunter one) I'm probably going to mod it when going Ultimate though as I've heard you pretty much have to use slag all the time in it.

it sounds to me like you dont want to play the game, the sole point of tvhm anad uvhm is the game gets harder, and as such better bc NVHM is just annoying to get through, theres no difficulty. One of the main points of this game is grinding legendaries, i think the ideal situation for you is to find a different shooter to play
Renfrew Sep 19, 2021 @ 11:17pm
Play Borderlands TPS, it severely waters down the RPG mechanics (which is why I prefer BL2 - more depth and challenge), but it will be right up your alley, it's Borderlands, but easier and with some minor quality of life improvements.
Lyon-CZ Sep 20, 2021 @ 12:55am
If you have issues with TVHM, don't even start UVHM. It will be just a pure pain for you.
