Is it worth getting into the Borderlands series?

I played Borderlands 2 a little bit before, at my friends house. It looked cool but i'm not sure if it's worth getting.. if they are good i may get all the games, borderlands 1 + 2 + 3...

but is the game long? like really long? i only want to play the story, no side missions or anything, just main story...

i usually only like playing a story game which is like 20 hours atleast, if i keep playing after 20 total hours then i get really bored and i have to start forcing myself to play which is exhausting and also annoying then i start hating the game.

i recommend Bordelands 3 actually . Its a much better game..I am somebody who actually is playing the game. Graphics are more modern and look better. They have added some things that have improved it. Its a better version of Borderlands 2. More of the same just improved. They didnt change the formula. It is still Borderlands. Its not different in that respect. Even down to the same cast for the most part except for the bad guys. Its just the best version of it.

Considering he is talking about getting all three games, I think you're acting really childish and salty.

As for his suggestion, borderlands 1 and 2 both have been polish and are solid games. However, Borderlands 3 is current filled with bugs and fps drops that it is a flip of a coin if your PC will face problems. My advice would be to wait for a sale for BL1+2 and hold off until BL3 at least gets patched if you decide to get the franchise.

To add more on the post above, it would probably be best to get BL1 and test it out if you enjoy it before getting the other games.

Telling a guy to go straight to the latest entry which cost around $60 when he doesn't know if he will enjoy the game is an easy way to waste someones money. It is also hard to gauge how much enjoyment he will have from less than 2 hours of gameplay if he wanted to try it and refund the game.

I included borderlands 3 and how patches are needed to polish the game. It might be best to wait and see how good the game actually between the bugs and the bad reviews. You suggested for him to go straight to Borderlands 3.

Yes, and while BL2 is the most popular one so far, BL1 is well worthwhile, and some ppl (including me) like it better than 2. The base game has it's long-winded stretches, but the DLCs are hilarious (though in parts long winded, too).

BL2 and DLCs are all fun and entertaining, I liked the more minimalistic style and sardonic humour of #1, which changes to a more colourful and effects-heavy game and much humour is applied with a pretty thick brush's stroke. Much still is worth a laugh, I'd say the cringe quota is <25%...

PreSequel is like 2, and IMHO better played after 2, because that's the order they were published and written in, though I concede, I never finished it because I didn't like it that much...

Tales from the Borderlands is a much different playing experience, and delivers a most entertaining story in that sweet "Tales"-studio style.

Plus the areas in Borderrlands 3 are enormous. And packed full of stuff. When they say its a much bigger game. Take there word for it. Its actually a 57 GB download.

I can agree on some part of that. It feel like a upgraded version of bl2, with in the same way is not the best thing. I was hoping for something more but still the same formula.

Tho i dont recomend bl3 as you miss ALOT of the story.
Get the first borderland enchanted edition or what its name is. To get the full story, you should play the game in this order (imo):
Borderlands
Borderlands 2
Tales from Borderlands
Borderlands: the pre-sequal
Borderlands 3

And for the FULL story, read the comics first!
There is 4 of em, each tell the story of the chars in first bl what they did before the game.

Yeah, and as TellTale when to ♥♥♥♥ its hard right now, tho they made a deal with gearbox so all the things they did in talesfromborderlands can show up in bl3, and it did, so people that have not playd can miss a part of the story.
Not a huge part, but as a fan of the lore in bl serie, i love that game as its bl in every way!

Imo if you choose to get all of them, wait for a Handsome Collection sale. They are around every couple of months for around $6. I guess you will have to pick up the others separately, though.

The Handsome Collection includes Borderlands 2 and Borderlands the Pre-Sequel with all DLC for both games. Haven't played Tales From the Borderlands yet though >.>

The Handsome collection does not include the Commander Lilith DLC you need to get to lvl 80 and OP10.

Early sure, end game nope. At end game its a lot of slag into bullet sponges. A well known problem of the series.

for BL1 it's less of an issue with the Enhanced edition. BL2 I've yet to play, so....
